    P220 - 10 round mag reliability

My friend with a P220 Combat has found that his 10 round mags he bought a few years ago and finally used have had multiple FTFs.

Has anyone else noticed this problem with these mags? They're all original Sigs, the 8 rounders work fine.

Mine works fine with all ammo through my P220 Combat.

I haven't had any problems with the 10 round magazine on the stainless steel P220. Regardless of FMJ or JHP type ammo.

Ok thanks, it seems the 10 rounders had a design change in the more recent versions...

The problem with the 10 round magazine is that they are barely long enough to fit 10 rounds in them so there is a lot of stress on the feedlips from the spring. Normally that doesn't really affect anything unless you are trying to insert a fully loaded mag while there is a round in the chamber. This could cause enough tension to prevent the slide from cycling properly.

I would try leaving them fully loaded for at least a week to help the springs set.

My Sig 10 round magazine works great. My pro mag 10 round magazine was junk right out of the bag.
