non railed TRP Falling off roster?

Does anyone know if Springfield is planning on renewing The non railed trp (pc9108l) for the Roster? Or are they just going to drop it?

You usually can tell if it will drop off if Springfield starts releasing information of a newer version. Otherwise, very likely they will renew.

Springfield has not dropped anything for a few years.

Keep in mind if you shop online or order sight unseen, there are 2 TRP version with the same model number. The updated grip change makes it off roster with the famous FU California sticker.

Hard to believe that just by having different grips a pistol is off roster. CA laws make no sense. Arggh

Both non railed and the full rail TRP have already been renewed for 2015.

As mentioned by 5ZS, If you order one from out of state, make sure your FFL is not going to have an issue with the "Not Legal In California" sticker. Springfield only includes the CA approved Cocobolo grips with TRP's that are intended for the CA market. Out of state TRP's have the newer G10 grips and are technically off roster although many FFL's will DROS them as being on roster because the part number is unchanged.

Does this apply to the half rail model number too?

No, the half rail model is not on the CA roster. Only the full rail or no rail.

Ah okay. Now I understand. Just bought a TRP about a month ago. When I inquired about ordering one thinking I had to SSE it, my local FFL said it was on roster. When it came in a week later for DROS, I was confused by that big Not Legal for California sticker on the case.

Really? Different grips makes it not roster? That's stupid.
Darmog how do you like your TRP? I Wanted a half rail trp. But guess I'll go with the no rail one and purchase an mc operator as well...

Anyone seen a rostered railed TRP in Norcal or Bay Area? Looking for one. Thanks!

Good luck, very difficult to find the full rail in stock. They only produce 2 batches a year and they sell very quickly. Gun Broker usually has a few listed but at around $2000 which is $400 over retail.

If you truely want a half rail and are willing to spend $2500, you can order the 1911 Professional Light Rail which is on the roster. The wait is about 2 years though. Unless you find one in stock which is very rare.
