    AB 1964 Accelerated Purchases

    1st. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

    Next:

    Yes, another insufferable SSE thread.

My first 2 SSE purchases were not driven by AB1964. I bought them because I wanted them and wanted them now (well, earlier this year). Even if the law did not pass, I would have acquired them

Once AB 1964 was signed into law, I thought about what I would want but not have much opportunity to get in 2015 and beyond. While I did buy a few more via SSE, there are 2 that I would have bought anyway, but would have waited until next year. They are a PPQ 4" M2, and P320.

Prior to the PPQ, the only striker fired (sf) pistols I had were M&Ps. Prior to the M&Ps, all my handguns had hammers. Turned out I like the sf action and wanted another, different but still readily available. Driven somewhat by the 1 in 30 rule, and local availability at the time, I chose the PPQ. Done!

Two months later I'm coming up on the end of my 30 days (I did buy something between these two) and need to decide what to get. I came across the P320 Carry. My first handgun was a SIG (still have it). I still suffer from the Signess. DONE!

I bought a few others, but honestly, I might not have bought them at all if not for AB1964. Maybe we'll have another insufferable thread on this topic.

So, are there handguns you bought by SSE that you would have bought anyway, but did so this year due to AB1964?

Definitely more than i would have this year. All were something i wanted, none were bought for the sake of buying it because of sse, if thats whats being implied about some buyers.

No implication intended. Just curious if the law moved up anyone's timeline.

I wanted everything I bought. I have no intention of flipping anything.

There are still a few on roster I want but will wait to buy next year (or maybe the year after), and some I'll do by PPT.

Yeah, I had to put my future handgun purchases into high gear this year with the impending end of SSE and I definitely overtaxed my wallet. So far this year I grabbed...

            A Glock 42
A Chiappa Rhino 40DS (Technically a SAE but I still bought it earlier than expected)
            A Sig P320
            A Boberg XR-9s
            A Vz 61 Skorpion

I still didn't score my Arsenal Strike One or my Remington R51 but I got close.

Same here, all my purchases I wanted, but never planned on getting them all this year.

My timeline was moved up. I wanted an M&P Performance Center and was thinking it might be nice to get one next year, then realized they weren't on the roster, and it was December 19th. So I SSE'd one on 12/20. 👍

I might not have bought any pistols this yr, but after it passed I got:

                  gen4 17
                  gen4 34
                  2014 p07
                  XDs 9mm 3.3
                  Elite Match Witness .45

And happy to have them all. I don't think I could have done any better, given stretched budget. They are all great toys in their own way that I researched and compared a lot, so it feels like I'm hitting the finish line with great satisfaction. They are all keepers for sure!

I bought a few that might have waited, but my last purchase was driven by the end of SSE. FNX-45 Tactical FDE. It's in jail right now.

I hear you, brother. I brought all these new mouths into the house...now I have to feed them!

Anyone know where I can sign up for FMJ Food Stamps? Oh wait, I won't qualify since I have a job...and a house...and a meaningful, taxpaying lifestyle.

Sorry. Not very Christmas-y of me. Happy Yuletide to all!

I had not planned to purchase any guns this year and had intended to concentrate on buying premium optics for some of the guns I already have. When AB1964 passed, I simply couldn't turn down the opportunity to SSE 5 guns that I doubt will ever be available again in Kalifornia - even IF the roster is thrown out..

Seriously, how could anyone (with money to spare) not want to spend it on guns that are certain to vastly increase in value? I've made it a specific point to profit off of the stupidity of liberal legislators every time they do something like this. The worst part was the 1 gun in 30-days BS kept me from maximizing my profit like I was able to do when CA banned "hi-cap" magazines. When that happened, I still had an FFL and bought out the entire stock from some other dealers. The national AW ban in 1994 made it possible for me to sell some magazines for over 10 times what I paid.
