No, they are not on the roster (most Colt's are not...).

yeah but i figure there's at least a few people who have them. i think as a ca "restricted" item it's more worth it than say... an hk45. did i just speak blasphemies?

The commander version, a S&W, is on the roster.
It's a nice piece, but I have to admit I'm not really sure why S&W calls it a Gunsite special. Among other things, it has 3-dot night sights, which is not really something Gunsite pushes.
OBTW, it's a current manufacture pistol so it has the new magazine disconnect feature.
Also please to remember that commanders have stronger springs than 5" full-size pistols do. If you are arthritic, that makes this pistol somewhat harder to operate.

The Colt version is not on the roster.
It, too, is a very nice piece. Frankly, I'd say a better one.
It has tall vertical black-on-black sights.
Funny thing -- the Colt comes in a "small hand" configuration. It has thin grips and a short trigger.
I love this gun, but there is something about it that doesn't like ME. I still can't figure it out, but it doesn't point the same place every time I Present it, whereas my other pistols do. It may have something to do with the "smaller" feel, or the different way the frame is cut.

Both have lovely triggers, are nicely de-horned, feel good in the hands, everything works as it should, and they seem to reliably feed and shoot just about anything I've been pushing at them since I got them.

            Yes I do

A low # full size my parents gave me. The trigger stunk so I had it fixed and now it works great. I rarely shoot it but it does what it is supposed to do.

Are you talking about the CCO? If so, I don't have a Gunsite edition, but do have a standard Colt CCO....

It's been in the safe since I bought it. I'll have to take it out shooting one of these days....it feels great. Too many toys, too little time!

Old Fud are you telling me that S&W put a mag disconnect in a 1911?
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.
