    Carrying on the job

I own a business, and have been robbed before. I now carry a Glock 19 in a crossbreed Supertuck at 5 o'clock and for the life of me cannot get used to it. My dress everyday is slacks/ button up tucked in and a tie.
Tucking a shirt in over a IWB is a pain in the *** and uncomfortable.
I do not want to open carry because it looks unprofessional in my opinion. I know some might disagree, but I am switching to ankle carrying instead.

    1) I've been looking at the glock 26, but am shooting a 27 tonight to see how I like it the change of caliber. Any other ankle-carriable gun recommendations? Anyone own a LCR or LCP?

    2) What are some good (relatively) comfortable ankle holsters that you have worn?

I don't want to talk about the sacrifices made in switching from waist to ankle carry, I have made up my mind. I would just like some input on guns and holsters.

    Thanks in advance.

Trust me, you will not find ankle carry any better. Don’t waste your money. When it is all said and done, the best way to carry a gun is strong side pan cake. Start wearing a light jacket, and the issue is resolved.

The 26 and 27 are thick
      How about a slim pistol?
      Like the Shield, PPS, XDS

I would recommend pocket carry over ankle carry, but it sounds like you've made up your mind.

If you're going to ankle carry get a NICE holster. Alessi, Mitch Rosen, Kramer... Going cheap on an ankle holster will just lead to a headache, backache, and possibly your gun skidding across the floor.

First, apologies for not having any recommendations.

But when you say you are tucking in your shirt over your IWB gun, do you mean such that the gun is actually under a tucked in shirt, so you can't even reach it without untucking your shirt? Or do you mean with the IWB holster/gun, you have trouble tucking in your shirt in your pants and then to the inside of the holster such that the gun is accessible with the tucked in shirt?

Sounds dumb but, can you wear something like those sneaky pete "cellphone holder" cases with a Shield or LC9S in it?

I know, you want ankle holster suggestions, again, sorry for that I have no suggestions, just wondering about the situation.

            Try

One of those fancy conceal vests. Looks nice and hides gun well.

              OP,
Unless you are driving, ankle holster will suck azz.
If you're looking at a G26 to keep on your person you'll find many options of carry that are easier than an ankle rig. Tucked in shirt required? Pocket carry? Belly band?
Like SLO mentioned. I've seen that happen. Pistol dropped out of the pant leg.
However, you gatta do what you gotta do.

Check out the smartcarry/thunderwear type of holster. Also a thinner gun like a p938 might help if you still want to carry iwb. Ankle holstering a g26 sucks IMHO.

like it was mentioned before unless you wear your shirt untucked you are going to need to wear a jacket to conceal your gun. too many variables that can go wrong with ankle carry and wearing your gun under a tucked shirt when you need to get it fast.

I also have a sigtac wallet holster for my 938... Looks exactly like a wallet to the eye. G26 would be awfully bulky that way..

I carried guns from J-frames up to P239's on my ankle for years. The Renegade, with its wide, elastic Velcro band was by far my favorite, and the favorite of the professionals with whom I worked.

Ankle carry was painfully slow to present from. Dangerously slow. It may have contributed to a minor back problem as well.

I now believe pocket carry, with the right gun, is the answer to my problems. A light, Centennial series (the one without the hammer) J-frame loaded with .38 Special +P's or +P+'s can be drawn very quickly from a DeSantis Nemesis. There may be semi's that suit you better.

                        No exposed hammer spurs!
"Self defense is not a fashion show. A defensive handgun is not a little black dress, or a purse."
Remember, the overwhelming majority of anti-gun thinkers are not stupid enough to be "afraid of guns." They are afraid of stupid/immature/crazy psycho people with guns.
And as always, being friendly, courteous, and respectful is the easiest way to bend people to your will.
