    SIG 1911 TACOPS

After several weeks of window shopping and internet research I ended the search with a SIG 1911 TACOPS... My main points in my search were that it needed to have a picitanny rail, 45ACP caliber, and of course reliable... OTD price was $1080... I'll give an update when I throw more rounds down range as I've only fired 10rds through it during my CCW class...

Congrats on the purchase! I made the same decision and am waiting to start my DROS the last week of the year.

        She's a beaut!

Selling my Sig 1911 was the worst mistake I've ever made in selling firearms.

I've had mine for over a year now.
One thing though, stop firing it until you take the trigger apart and polish the disconnector. That part is MIM and has razor sharp edges on it. It gouged out my trigger bar and almost ruined it. I spent hours polishing out the trigger bar just to make it useable again.

Congratulations! I myself wanted a tacops in pro size. The balance of these beauties is just right. Tell us how it shoots please, I had some friends telling me it's on par with Kimber.

congrats! i too really enjoy my tacops. almost as polished as my kimber, but made up for the fact with having more features, such as the rail, night sights and front strap checkering. she works beautifully with a tlr-1HL mated with her. got super lucky when grabagun had them on sale for 699. happy shooting!

Thanks for the heads up. First I've heard of the disconnect doing this. I am aware of the disconnect and the slide release being the only (2) MIM parts though, which is a huge plus for this 1911 or any other...

Interesting. Sig appears to be building these with whatever parts they have on hand. So far I've seen at least three different triggers. Mine is different from yours and even Sig's own stock photos online. It shoots very well and at its price, it's a relative bargain. The TACOPS is a loaded 1911 at half or third of what some makes charge. Probably the last one I'd think of for CCW though. You'd have to be a very large man with flesh pouring over your belt to be able to conceal it successfully.

My father has a SIG 1911 NIGHTMARE. The full size CBOB carry version. It is a really nice 1911. Like most 1911s intended for carry the trigger is a tad heavier than your typical 1911. But still very smooth and crisp. I like it a lot. Haven't had a chance to try out the TacOps yet. Looking forward to reading your range report. The Sig 1911 Nightmare is my dad's favorite gun to actually shoot. I have to say, of his guns it would be mine as well. Really, really nice gun...and not too pricey all considered.

Haha... I wouldn't consider carrying it as a EDC, that's what my Glock 26 is for. I'm only 5'8 170... But you never know

Just now browsing and only saw them for $800-1K... No biggie. I enjoy supporting my local gun shop...

Just spoke to my local gum smith and he said he'd polish it up for free. Just need to bring the part in.

                              Grats.

                              You'll love it. Love mine.

My trigger looked different than yours. It seems like sig tacops get different triggers every year. As if you can tell the year it's manufactured (if in original config). No biggie for me though.
