    which to choose?

i found some threads back in May of this year that asked about SP01 or P-01, but didn't touch on what i'm looking for.

if given a choice between SP-01 Tactical or P-01, which would you choose and why?

one thing i'm not sure of is whether or not both SP-01 Tactical and P-01 has the same trigger pull or not.

i've tried to hold both before and both feels good in hand. but if using it for both HD and range... and since both are 9mm, would P-01 be easier to manhandle in the event when you needed to draw?

what's your take on that? it seems both are around the same price and i think (correct me if i'm wrong.. noob here) they are both steel frames.

    thanks in advance.

P01 is on roster, sp01 tactical is off roster, if you want the sp01 you better hurry before sse ends.

I thought one of the compacts had an aluminum frame? I can't rmember what model though but I thought it was the p01 or the pcr..maybe I just need some coffee.

I have an sp01 tact, but not a p01. I'm sure they are pretty close, but about $50 at cgw and a little polishing and the point becomes moot.

The SP-01 Tactical is off roster so you won't be able to get it with SSE next year. SP-01 and P-01 are on roster but CA version with the 10 rd mags are a little harder to find online.

Yep... the P-01 & PCR have an alloy frame. The SP-01's steel and a half a pound heavier. If you're going to CCW, P-01.
If you're going to shoot IDPA/USPSA, the SP-01 is the way to go, and should provide faster follow-up shots.
Otherwise, it's personal preference, and since they are both decockers, the triggers will be close enough (both would benefit from work).
Rent both, or meet up with a calguns member and put them both though their paces... You won't be disappointed either way.

I shot both before buying. I wasn't going to ever carry the weapon, so I went with the full-sized, more comfortable to shoot SP-01 (Tactical).

Don't worry about "trigger pull" in a HD situation....the DA pull is stronger, but HARDLY an obstacle with a situation at hand. There is no "manhandling" just because of it's DA. You just push the trigger a little harder and it goes bang. It's only an issue for more precise target shooting.

For some reason, I found the P-01 trigger to be slightly further out and got some trigger pinch (or something uncomfortable) after shooting it for only 50 rounds. My fingertip actually got sore. Did not get that feel with the SP-01....

The CZ 75 SP-01 is the first full size handgun from CZ to feature the improved ergonomics of the NATO-approved CZ 75 Compact P-01 model.

Both feel exceptional in the hand to me... Of course, the P-01's grip is shorter, and folks with larger hands could have issues.
If your hand is too large to comfortably fit a G19 (mine is), pay close attention to the grip length on the CZ compacts...

That's a point to focus on as well... More of a 'issue' (training issue) on the compact than the full-size for me personally...
But compared to... say a SIG P226/229 (also DA/SA w/ decocker), the SIG's slide has more beef to grab onto in a high-stress situation, as it's slide rides the outside of the frame.

I was lucky to find the Tactical and is jailed right now. Put an order for the p-01 and hope to jail it in late January.

Tactical is off the roster, I used my last SSE to get mine. I also just bought the Kadet .22 conversion kit that is on sale right now at Midway USA for just $369 scheduled to be delivered on the same day my baby is released
