Bought a M9A1, need recommendations on Mods

Hello guys. Just got a M9A1. As off right now I've changed the grips to the houge grips and changed the D spring. What other modifications do you guys recommend? Anything on this gun prone to breakage I should switch out etc? Should I swap out the plastic parts (safety, mag release, trigger) with the steel ones?

    Thanks guys

Take it from a newbie who has been down that road..just buy some ammo and shoot it. I always used to put unnecessary crap on my guns and it did nothing but waste money when ammo and range time could have been had instead.

Just some good advice that has been giving to me. YMMV

Thanks. It's good advice. I do not plan on spending too much money on it. The hogue grip and the D spring were a must for me, but anything else unless it'll make a major difference I can go without. I remember reading a while ago about a certain spring on this gun prone to breakage but I cannot remember what spring it was. I'd like to swap that out if true. Thanks again

The D spring is a good upgrade. As for the plastic parts, they aren't an issue. If you really want you could get the oversize mag release from Beretta. Other than that just get a good holster and shoot it.

If you want to get it professionally worked over you could send it to Wilson Combat and have them really trick it out.

The only thing that bothered me on my M9 was the trigger. I'm not sure if Wilson Combat was making these parts at the time, but I didn't know about their upgrades until after I sold that gun.

I also like the look on their guide rod, but totally unnecessary

Wow, I pretty much did everything to mine that Wilson Combat does to theirs, with the addition of the comp.

Elite II hammer, VZ golf ball grips, steel guide rod, oversized beretta mag release, 17lb wolff 1911 hammer spring. This setup is used for competition only and works well with Fed primers.

That elite hammer is pretty mean looking though!

Ammo, D spring and maybe some thinner grips if needed. I have VZs on mine. The D spring will lighten the trigger pull considerably. Every other mod is just for funzies. Shoot, shoot and shoot some more. Enjoy it.

I have a D-spring, wood grips, and an Elite hammer on mine. Want to swap the trigger out for a short-reach version at some point, and get some thinner grips on there.

Send it (along with an Elite II Hammer and $125) to Josh at Allegheny Gun Works for an action and trigger job and a Speed Bump trigger. Absolutely the best money you can spend on a Beretta 9X.

Geez just shoot it.Ammo, targets, and range time. It is one of the most reliable handgun platforms and it needs absolutely nothing else added.

And yes, I do own one.
