    P226 front sight fell off

I noticed after a shooting string that my front sight had drifted off to the left. I tried to push it back, and it wouldn't stay; it had become extremely loose. Has this happened to anyone? Any suggestions?

Three things you can do. First use a small punch and lightly stipple it on the bottom side. Second use locktite blue on the bottom side. Third buy a new sight.

But a new sight and put a couple of drops of red loctite under it and drift it in. Let it dry and it wont go anywhere easily. Make sure you get the right height from sight. Go here they are cheap and factory replacements.

Punch it and use locktite. The combo works well and you should not have any more problems.

Is the handgun still under warranty? If so, Sigarms customer service should take care of it for free. My new 228 had the same problem, and sigarms fixed it.

Happened to my new Equinox. Sent the slide and sight back for repair by Sig. 3 Weeks later it came back looking good with the sight firmly fixed into place once more. Alignment is perfect as new. Sig was nice about it and paid the postage both ways. After a bit of follow up that and a few calls is. Seems Sig service can deal with fax and voice better than email.

Kind of disappointing that it happened on a brand new gun, but then it is a Sig and not an HK.

Center the site in the slide.

Place a drift punch in the center of the dovetail behind the site.

Hit it with a hammer you'll be fine.

If you take it to a gunsmith or send it to Sig that is what they are going to do.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.
