Ranges that rent a Px4 Strom in 9mm and 45acp

Looking to get a handgun for my 21st birthday and cannot decide between 9mm vs 45acp out of a Px4 Storm. I plan on using this for armed guard work down the road and don't want to get either caliber to find out later that I don't like how it shoots.

Does anyone know a range that has the Beretta Px4 Storm in 9mm and 45acp? I live in the San Mateo area northern California

I am down here in OC. I rented one at my local range in 9mm and I couldn't hit a damn thing, maybe it had received too much abuse.....

What guns down you own already? What was the ammo? Did you happen to know if the sights zeroed?

The PX4 in .45 is not on the roster. It will be difficult to find one for rent. 9mm and .40 should be available. I would check with Jackson Arms (south sf), Reeds (santa clara), or Target Masters (milpitas).
I have a 9mm. Its a good, reliable, soft shooting pistol. More accurate than I can shoot.

Really? Did it get taken off or was never on it?

I own a Springfield "Loaded" 1911. I was thinking of buying the PX4 in 9mm too so I decided to try it using range ammo, but like I said earlier, I didn't like it. I shot a Glock 17 in 9 the same day, felt/shot much better, even though the Glock feels like it's built with Lego bricks

Most likely. I've had that experience with a few range guns, as well. My PX4 is dead on every time. One of my absolute favorite guns to shoot.

If your armed guard job allows you to get high cap magazines then 9mm may be a better choice.

Think seriously about a better gun.

I rented a brand new Beretta Cougar years ago, same rotating barrel action, and found it was an inaccurate POS. Even my buddy ( a much better shot than me) couldn't get anything resembling a group on paper.

That was at National Shooting Club (now Reed's Indoor Range) in Santa Clara.

I wanted to like it, I really did... Look into an Hk instead if your life is on the line.

Thank you for the replies everyone. At this point in time I plan on heading to the range and firing Glock, M&P, Sig, Beretta and possibly an HK if they have it available side by side in 9mm to figure out which one I fire the best. From there I can then try the 45acp version of the pistol I fire the best and see if I prefer the larger caliber.
