Have you tried lubing any of the friction points in the trigger system? When I stripped my gun down and treated it with frog lube paste it brought the trigger pull down by a 1-1.5lbs. Any thin film of lube around the friction points might reduce and smooth your trigger pull.

I had the same experience with reassembling the XDs. All the videos online show the old sear/spring system pre-recall and any video that shows the post-recall system is very low quality. It makes for a confusing reassembly.

Glad the Powder River kit improved your trigger. I ordered one as well but they are currently on backorder.

I want to do that, but I need to research what is supposed to be dry, and what can be lubricated.

Not knowing prevented me from lubing anything.

As a guess, I'd say leave the striker channel alone, and probably part of the sear. The other part of the sear and all the pivot points/contact points could benefit from a very light lub. But I need to look into it. I was just glad I got the damn thing back together today. If I had to do it again it would take a fraction of the time. I need to get some proper punches, of several different types before I take it down again tho. I was using straight faced punches on the roll pins and they were mushrooming ever so slightly. I believe powder river also sells some better roll pins which I might get as well before I break it down that far again.

Just saw on the Powder River website that they DO have a kit with an improved after market sear that reduces pull and optimizes geometry post recall.

I missed it by a month and I'll have to buy it again. Still pretty cheap tho, and now I know how to get there to do it.

The powder river sear is on sale right now so even though they include the springs you are only paying for the sear. That deal ends sometime in January. They structured it that way so people who bought the springs don't have to pay for the springs again but because of liability reasons they can't sell the sear alone.

That's what I've discovered as well. I tried to pm them to get just the sear, and a deal, but that IS the deal.

I'm not sure the math works out to being the price of just the sear tho, but whatever, it's still a worthwhile purchase.

I was concerned about this myself. The actual striker spring seems to be fairly decent though. A bit lighter, but not much. It's really a combination of everything that makes it a lighter feel, and not THAT much lighter, only a few pounds. I hope the new sear will make the difference.

I haven't got the sear yet, and haven't shot the gun yet but I will update when I do. I plan a trip sometime in January. Super busy at the moment.

this wouldnt surprise me at all. theres about a 1.5lb difference between my xds9 and xds45.

Hmm, sounds like the same thing that happens to Glocks to me.

Out of the box mine feels like 6-8#s. Definitely heavier than the ~5# trigger on my PPQ. Stock trigger isn't actually that bad. Pre-travel is relatively short without any grittiness unlike my PPQ when it was new. Would like to buy the trigger kit to how much better it can be improved but I could live with it as is currently.

I put the same spring kit in my xds. For the time invested the improvment in the trigger pull wasn't really worth it. I left out the striker spring though because I don't want light strikes. Instead of a 1/16 punch I just used a 1/16 drill bit which worked alright.

My friend just started the ten days on his xds. I told him if he buys the spring kit I'll put it on for him because I know I can do it fast enough to make it worth it. If the install is going to take you much over an hour I didn't feel like it was worth the time.
