    mp shield 9mm, woohoo

picked up the mp shield in 9mm. first thoughts: tight slide release, daughter and wife had a hard time racking the slide.

sooo took the 9 to a buddies house and shot two mags in his bomb shelter to see how it shoots.
im happy to say this pistol is amazing. nice trigger (dont how better it can be with apex trigger) very accurate at 20 feet (hey its a bomb shelter) out of the box.
recoil is very light, not much more than a 22mag. omg i love this little pistol. wow is all i can say. i glad i went with the 9 vs the .40. very easy gun to shoot, nice ergonomics.
so all in all i give it 9/10. cant give it a perfect 10/10 as i only lit off a few rounds. but the overall experience is good.
got the gun new for 425.00 otd.

Congrats! The slide gets easier after 5-600 rounds. You'll like it even more as time goes by

Congrats! Just got mine in 40 SW, non CA model yesterday. Not as snappy as I thought it would be. Put one magazine thru it today to test fire it. Waiting on some 40 cal bullets so I can load up some rounds. Have several 9mm's so I went with the 40 in case someone comes out with a 9mm barrel conversion.

              Congrats, OP.

Picked mine up on Monday and I agree about the brawny-man slide and slide release. The factory also went all-out with the oil...it was practically dripping.

After cleaning it up, I like it a lot. The trigger seems great, even better than my full size M&P. I'm really looking forward to breaking it in.

Paid $288 for a 9mm CA model from G and R Tactical during a promotion last month.

                Nice, congrats.

I just picked mine (SSE) up yesterday.

I haven't shot it or it's full size big brother yet.

Should be interesting, these are my first striker fired guns.

wow!!! thought i did good at 425 ?? o well. i love this little pistol. my oldest was going to get the .40 but alas.... young, women, job, college=no safety cert=no .40
have to agree about the heavy oil. cant wait for the range to see how it does on paper. the poor old barbi dolls didnt do so well. lost a few arms n legs. at 20 feet i know you cant tell much, but, it shot where i aimed. much better than my old sw40f. for such a short barrel? wow it handles nice. almost no recoil, noisy yes, flash? o yes!
                  hope this vid comes out.

+1 for the Shield 9mm as well. And yes, the slide gets easier to lock back after 300-500 rounds.

no joke the recoil spring on the Shield9 is a bit stiff... more reasons to put rounds downrange, i suppose! congrats to the OP.

jealous that you have a buddy with a bomb shelter to shoot in...

The only reason this thread was more interesting than the other 100 M&P Shield threads is because you get to shoot in a bomb shelter.

How awesome is that? Even if it's small, shooting in some hidden soundproof bunker is amazing!

If you're a reloader, then you can easily tune your loads and chrono the loads right away.

What's the backstop? How is the bunker not being wrecked?

Great on the Shield, I also have one in 9mm and fir sure the slide is tight at the beginning. I haven't shot mine enough to loosen it up yet.
