New USP 9mm owner, advice appreciated.

I bought a used H&K USP 9mm today. Is there a "recommended things to buy" list floating around (I looked a bit)?

I'm specifically looking to buy a good cleaning kit (e.g. Otis and Hoppes) and a small gun safe I can mount under my bed (e.g. Nanovault).

    Edit: picked it up today!

    HK USP buy list;
    Mags and Ammo. Holster.
    Great guns.
Cleaning supplies are very user subjective.

    Congratz on a great pistol.

Mags, match trigger kit, people tend to have their own preferences with holsters, etc.

Does the Hk Webstore still have that 30% off deal?

Stick a magnet to your bedframe. Don't bother with gun vaults unless worried about little ones.

Insight M2 UTL weapon light. No longer made, but appears to be in stock here. Direct mount with no adapter needed. http://nightvisionsales.com/itt-m2-u...html?tag=Flash

Kind of a must have legacy accessory for the USP if you can find them. Mine works great and has for a very long time.

Good catch! I ordered a few mags and a convex E1 butt pad too. 30% was a pretty smokin deal.

All good suggestions here. I have a usp 9 that I slapped some pachmyr grips on, extra mags and a match trigger kit are pretty much all you need. The recoil spring on this bad boy is very nice and will make shooting a very comfortable experience with it.

Shoot early, shoot often, and shoot a lot.

No little ones around and there won't be for any reason (friends that come by don't have kids), so this is a solid idea, thanks.

Haha will definitely be shooting a lot. Found an outdoor range that's less than 5 miles away from my place.

I'll probably hold off on the trigger kit until I've put a few hundred rounds through it. Thanks again for the recommendations everyone!

This may be a dumb question, but is there a preferred brand of ammo for the USP 9?

What is everyone using for ammo storage?

I've had my USP for years. The question I have is more along the lines....

                              WHAT DOESN'T IT EAT UP?

It has successfully shot everything that I've put in her. What's the preferred? I prefer Speer Gold Dot for home defense...and a similar weight for range time (FMJ).
