    Witness guys, need your help

Started off looking at the Tanfoglio Stock II and the CZ 75 TS both in 9mm with preference for the the Stock II. Well apparently it is a unicorn and I am now rethinking my options. Plus both guns are probably more than I need and more $ than I should spend. Likely only ever going to use them for punching holes in paper.

So I moved on to the Witness Elite Match.....also a unicorn in 9mm. So I figure I can just get a conversion kit but I am not clear on which ones are compatible. Tried to do my own little non scientific analysis based on the photos in their catalog and it seems like they should all work in the Elite Match Frame, the compact likely being the exception. Can anyone confirm this? Dumb question, but the Elite Match kit is what would be on the gun from the factory, right?

I do realize that the cost of the kit brings the total cost in line with the other 2 but the ability to swap calibers is the tie breaker.

For the CZ guys, I have a CZ75 SA 9mm and there is still the possibility I could do the TS in January as long as my FFL is good with DROS'ing it......and my Xmas bonus is healthy

I have seen the Cz 75 ts in local shops. I believe It is on roster. Check to make sure. Go for the tanfoglio. Tough yo find but not impossible. Keep checking gunbroker, grabagun, other sources bu Google search. I wanted a tanfoglio limited and it took a couple of weeks of checking. Anything pretty and off roster is not going to be easy. Good luck.

Same here....started eyeballin' the Stock ll in 9mm, but nowhere to be found, at least anywhere close to MSRP. Looked at getting the .45acp, but finally rethought it and it was too much money for paper punching. The Limited was worse, lol.

The Elite Match seems to be the best bargain for your money in that series, or even among most guns, period. I also couldn't wait to find a 9mm, so ordered up the .45 last week. Nothing but great reviews from what I've been able to Google or talk to Match owners here on Calguns

Yes, you'd order the Elite Match conversion kit, but apparently it's over $600 by the time it gets to your hands. Word is the standard Witness conversion kits (that are cheaper) may not fit without gunsmithing due to the Match having semi-custom framework. If you started SSE earlier, the best would've been to just buy both the 9mm and .45 guns!

Hey, I am about to start the DROS on a witness limited in 40 for my last sse. I found a great place called Ammoparadise, Grant is a great guy to work with. The prices are very reasonable. Here is a link to a witness stock in 9mm they say is in stock. I hope this helps.

I can confirm that the 9mm slide and the .45 ACP slide will work on a standard Witness Elite Match frame.

OP, if you are close to Burbank, try Guns Direct. I got my .45 from there. They had to order it and it came the next day. At the time of ordering, they also asked me if I wanted the 9mm. I said hell no! That's cuz I already have it

So I am only using one frame on both slides. The other frame is kept warm in the safe

yeah the slides on the semi custom versions fit the match. the standards usually require some/more fitting. my hunter and match slides are interchangeable as illustrated here:

slides swapped to the other frame.

Haha, I always use Ammo Paradise. That Stock 9mm must've just come available...I looked for weeks there. It's not the Stock ll, but looks nice also. In the end, I wanted the SAO Match action. My 45acp just came in and I DROS next week.

I just noticed the price went up slightly for the Match models now...from $597 to $609.

I'm down in San Diego but looks like they ship. If I manage to get the 9mm I'd need to add the transfer fee and get the mags blocked....probably a better option than a road trip x2. The 9mm is really what I want, I probably need to jump on it.

                  Thanks for the replies.

Woohoo, witness! Grant is my go to guy. I bought my witness elite match from him and it was the first one he ever saw and was super impressed by it. Soon after that, I bought the 9mm small frame polymer one he had for $310. Didn't think much of it, but that gun shoots and feels better than my cz75b with a trigger job.

Next week, I'm picking starting dros on my 10mm witness.

Well the Elite Match in 9mm at Ammoparadise now shows OOS, might just go for the 45.

                        Just a PSA:

Grab A Gun seems to have Stock I's in 9mm in stock for about $820.

The Elite Match 9mm has been OOS at AP (and everywhere else) for awhile. The Stock 9mm surprisingly was there yesterday when you started this thread, but I still didn't see a Match 9. Yeah, I got tired of waiting for the 9 and worried about SSE, so I went for my first 45acp. Owners of the Match 45 say the weight tames a lot of the 45 recoil...just like a CZ, I hope.
