For CC, should i get a S&W Shield? Why or why not.

A gun dealer offered me a S&W Shield for CC because they have been a popular sell with him. I don't want to spend more than 5 or 6 hundred. Any advise?

Its small, cheap and reliable. If you personally like it, its a good buy. Theres nothing fundamentally wrong with it.

I liked shooting it more than i thought i would. With quality guns like that it just comes down to preference, everything else is just subjective.

I thought these things were in the low $400's new.

After shooting several different models, I settled on the Shield because I liked it best. Your results may vary.

Sure, before taxes and fees. IF you want one get one. The only thing I have against it is that there is an on-roster version, so no rush for me.

Well you can say that about any new or used handgun bought in a store.

If you buy a $600 offroster gun online you will probably spend anywhere from $760 to $800 OTD when all is said and done.

Love mine and I am not a fan of the full sized m&p.

The shield in 9mm is an excellent carry gun

Love my 9mm Shield. Should be able to find one under $500 OTD. I bought mine from Bud's, IIRC it was right at $500 with tax & DROS. MSRP is $479 I think.

The shield is a great handgun for ccw and a great value. I've shot the xds and shield, both are great. Shield is more comfortable to shoot for me. I think the safety is in a perfect spot IMO. Great carry option, is definitely recommend it.

The Shield is a cool gun. It is accurate, reliable, and durable enough to be a fun range toy, and is small enough for a CCW gun so long as you don't think you are going to carry it in a suitcoat.

The Shield is a bit large for a pocket gun. It is a very well-made and practical gun for its size and weight class.

It's a great gun, I have it in .40 and use it as my EDC. Add an Apex trigger kit and you'll love it even more.
