    Last days of SSE question

im interested in having an ar pistol but i believe my time frame to get one before sse done is soon.
Had some questions (Ive read online but couldnt find a clear answer).

-Can i buy just a pistol ar receiver?
-if not, is there another way to get one? (i know i can do an 80% ar lower but that would be a last resort).

-If i do opt for an 80% lower, do i need to fulfill some requirement when i complete the 80% into a stripped receiver to be defined as a pistol?

I want to get the receiver before the end of the year if possible....
reason im trying to just get the receiver is due to short funds...
    Any thoughts?

Anyone know of a dealer or place that does sse in san gabriel valley? (Near Glendora or Covina area would be better).
(Also if i do find a pistol ar lower for sale but isnt ca compliant, can the ffl dealer i choose put a bullet button on it to make it compliant?)

I've only been there once, and it was for a ppt but Gun Affects in hacienda heights seems like a good place for it. It's not Covina or Glendora, but just a short drive away.

      thanks will look into it.
      Im located in W.Covina also.
I just found a website selling ar pistol lowers with a bullet button for ca compliance.
If i order it, does my dealer (ffl) have to still do a zero round sled for it?

No. It must be a COMPLETE pistol in order to do SSE. A partial lower just won't cut it. Since you don't want an upper, there are vendors that let you rent the upper to make a complete pistol for the purpose of SSEing. That is, when you buy the lower from them, they also send you the upper and charge you as if you actually bought the upper too. However, upon returning their upper, they will return your $$$ back minus the rental fee, usually 10% of the upper.

Ask around here. I think someone would recommend you a few.

If you ask, they will. However, they will charge you for it, usually just to cost of the BB not the labor. If not, you have provide them one. Usually, if the gun is not of exotic type or that it's abnormal, it's easy to find a bb for. However, if you decide to get the C39, be careful. That gun has a biggest mag release known to man. It's a pain in the rear to find a BB. Once found, you must also trim it down to fit the BB. And I think only Solar Tactical carries its BB.

        Goodluck

          1. No

          2. Yes

          3. That is a huge grey area. I will let some other brave soul answer that.

          4. You can borrow a pistol upper, go to Addax and they will mount it to one of their CA legal Pistol lowers, and you will pay around $379 OTD for the SSE.

          5. Refer to item 4.

Yeah..That's what SSE is for. Your SSE pays for this dumb mag. It's nothing more than a block of rubber sticking to fill the mag well. Some shops just cuts off the bottom of the mag. Nothing fancy.

If the Pistol is built here by an FFL 6/7 it can be registered as an AR pistol.

Call Addax Tactical. They will straighten you out.
