I have purchased from Rettings a couple of times, Sharpshooters in Torrance more than a few times, and Turners in Redondo Beach once. Of the the three, I could forego the Turners experience. BTW, as others have commented, have not had a bad experience with the folks at Rettings in Culver City and they have by far the largest selection than the other two I have mentioned. My experience with Sharpshooters has been good too.

I've purchased firearms from Rettig, Turner's (Reseda & Pasadena), Fowler's and The Stockade, both in uniform and in civvies. Great experience from all of them. Prices do vary, depending on what you're looking for.

Never better expressed. Research before going to buy.

You may or may not be referring to me but I had such an awful experience at Rettings that I reported them to the DOJ who told me that forcing people to wait more than two hours for a PPT constitutes a refusal to do them. Last thing I told them as I walked out was to enjoy it, cause times wouldn't always be this fat for them, and when it slowed down again, it was going to suck.

I don't buy many things from Gun Stores, as so many things can be had cheaper on the net. I don't mean this as a slight to any brick and mortar guys, just a fact. If I had to recommend someone, I would say Get a Gun in Bakersfield or Fort Courage.
Bako may be a long way to drive, but it's absolutely worth it. I wouldn't buy the last gun earth from Rettings if I was in the middle of a gunfight.

Uncle Pauls Gun Exchange in Ventura hands down.

Oak Tree and Firing Line northridge tied for second.

My favorite store used to be Turner's in Reseda, but that was a long time ago when I knew the manager. I really liked Kings Gun Works, but it's now Gunkings Armory and things aren't quite the same.

Did a PPT at Gunrunners today. They are still pretty good and OLL friendly to boot.

Scottmandue I am in Pedro also. If you are looking to do a FFL transfer your most convenient place is Union War Surplus on 6th street. I think the charge was a little high but I don't remember exactly.

I personally like Ammo Bros. a lot. There is a place in Westminster called The Stockade. The prices aren't great and some of the workers have attitudes but they have a lot of guns. There however was one really really cool guy that worked there the last time I was there.
