How dependable are biometric safe locks?

Are they good? Do they suck? Can other people open them just by mashing their thumbs onto the sensors?

They are not dependable, especially when your thumb dirty/sweaty.

I have one that I don't use. My finger has to be on it just right for it to open. My wife and daughter have a very hard time opening it, I think because they have smaller fingers. I would not recommend them.

I love mine and never have a problem. It is a higher end one so that might be why.

They suck I have had several over the years none were ever reliable. It's sad because I realy liked the idea. I use them for storage now never for HD/SD.

Had it for about 7 years, no problem. Replaced battery once.

Based on my laptop's fingerprint reader and the fingerprint locks at my job, I have absolutely zero faith in any fingerprint readers. They are either too sensitive and lock you out or not sensitive enough and can be opened by anyone.

fingy readers at 24Hour Fitness seem pretty good, but I would want to count on one if all hyped up.

Buttons seem MUCH better solution for a few reasons.

1)works even if you got dirty manged fingers, like if you just lost the 1st round to a bad guy.

2)Can be made to work 'over the phone', like if you are away on biz trip and the Obama-voters are rioting, and your wife is "just NOT a shooter" but your retired neighbor is willing.

3)relies on tech us normal folks understand, no voodoo.

4)should work just fine after EMP bomb attack, which itself might then trigger Obama-voters into looting frenzy.

                          5)No batteries.
Am I a good shot!?!, YEAH I'M A GOOD SHOT!....i just got bad aim
