Just wanted to see how many people care about the looks of a handgun they are going to purchase and whether the looks are a deciding factor for them. Personally for me the looks of a gun for me factor in about 20% if I'm going to like it

How much do looks factor in for you when buying a gun?

I would think people care a lot if they are 'into' guns as opposed to buying one for protection or for work if not already issued one. -
in general, for me:
reliability > comfort = accuracy > tune-ability (aftermarket) > looks
there are times when things like size/weight will trump those previously mentioned criteria, such as when looking for a concealable firearm. things like resale value dont even compute since i never purchase a firearm with the intention of selling it, and i only consider handguns in 9mm and 45acp. everything i buy, i use, and is intended for a purpose.Comment

They all look pretty much the same to me. It needs to feel good in my hand, and have available parts.Comment

You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You might not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home, the first two things you're going to do are, 1) Call someone with a gun, 2) Pray they get there in time.Comment

If I'm buying a 1911 or something I'll be putting some care into how it looks and personal preference. If I'm going for something like a training/ccw weapon then it's gonna be a glock which are probably the plainest firearm you can own.
Functionality is more important for me than looks for your average handgun.Comment

For my first gun, looks didn't matter as much as quality and price, since I was on a tight budget. Like others have said though, there are plenty of good looking guns that are quality built and reliable. After my 1st, looks played a strong role, second only to feel and quality.Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities (and the smallest minority on earth is the individual).
