If it's not purdy, I don't want it.
But what has happened, over the years, is that my idea of pretty changes.
I look at something and say, gawd, that is butt ugly; I will never buy it.
But then later I think, hmmm, I think I will get one of those.
And by that time I have convinced myself that the thing is purdy. And so I want it.

None. I rent them or if a friend has it, I'll shoot it and if I like it I get it. Looks? Don't care. I want a shooter not a safe queen.

This is a good example of what I'm talking about.

Looks matter as much as looks matter to you. A friend of mine had a Ruger 9mm that I thought was ugly, but it was a pleasure to shoot. Sorta like women.

              It depends on its use.

If it's for carry or HD: reliability, ergonomics, then looks.
If it's for plinking or show: looks, reliability, ergonomics.

I purchased 2 guns from Sierra Arms in Modesto and the girl that sold them and processed all the paperwork was very attractive, but it didn't influence my purchasing of the guns in anyway. Just made the transaction more pleasant!!!

I'm the type of guy who finds beauty in function. This why I find glocks so sexy!

For me, reliability, ergonomics, and price are the big factors. That said, I do consider aesthetics when planning a purchase. That is why I don't have one of those unfortunate-looking XDs.

Ugly quick fix solution. If you own an "ugly gun", just put it next to an uglier gun. Better yet, put it next to a few uglier guns. Not so ugly after all; right!!! It works for women so why not for guns.

                              Reliability / Durability > Accuracy > Ergonomics > Looks > Price.

That being said I couldn't convice myself to buy an X-Six yet, maybe if I get a promotion.

I find almost all guns beautiful in some way. There are exceptions of course, but truthfully, I can find something attractive in just about all of them. Ergonomics is the big one for me.. I don't care how good it looks, if it doesn't feel right I don't buy it.
