    Any other SD9ve owners ? s&w

I purchased the Sd9ve about 6 months ago

Put the apex trigger kit . removed mag release

i just like the look of the pistol . i have a glock , 1911, and few other tiny edc's

so on a impulse buy late night after a few beers i bought the gun at a decent price . But since i live in cali i paid about 100 more $ than most the country

    either way

id just like to know if any one else has this pistol and the experience with it

My experience is . i have shot 1900 rounds without one failure to feed , eject , fire , anything roughly 1900 rounds not one problem .

kinda blew me away . my glock , my ruger 1911, my ccw all had issuses even in the few hundreds . stove pipe etc.. failrue to fire etc..

did i just get super lucky with sd9ve or is this pistol that damn good??????

i clean it twice a week . along with all my other firearms

    FRAT sorry

took me a couple hundred rounds to get really comfy with the apex trigger

but now i can pretty much hit anything at a reasonable range

this is one gun that truly blew me away on quality and reliability

surprised no one else is talking about this pistol .

Its been talked about on this forum before...mostly same opinion as yours, great budget pistol...its on my lists of wants but im concentrating on other stuff rite now...

My experience with them are positive...trigger is heavy as frak and i dislike the LCI but the trigger can be replaced with an apex kit....

I love mine. The trigger has definitely improved after about 700 rounds. I've got a light mounted on it and it's tucked away nicely in it's new Remora holster within arms reach of my pillow.

I CCW my G26 but the S&W has proven to be more than reliable in the 6 months I've had it.

I paid $450 for my m&p. Im sure the sv is good, but the mp is a little more flexible on conversions and support.

It is a good pistol for the price but as mentioned above it has a pretty lousy trigger out of the box, has little in the way of accessories or support, and for a little more money one can get a better pistol. Regardless, I'm happy that you are happy with your pistol, OP.

When you state that you clean it twice a week, I assume that's because you are shooting it twice a week? If not, that's an awful lot of unnecessary cleaning. I've seen more guns damaged from excess or over zealous cleaning than any other cause.

i shoot all my firearms a couple times a month
i just love cleaning my guns , ( good wipe down with some cleaner, im not breaking down the trigger mechs and everything twice a week )

every couple months il go full retard on the cleaning . break everything down .
              etc.

but thanks for that reply . took awhile to respond holidays and bs .

ya M&P is very solid pistol . Not sure what conversions you are talking about but my SD9ve has a rail to mount laser/light/etc. can get metal guide rods , trigger kits , pretty much anything i want for it .

forgive me for my ignorance but what am i missing ?

My m&p is in 40. I have a 9 barrel for it. I can swap on a 5 inch slide. 357Sig drops in too. Its like having a few guns in one. Its pretty flexible. I went with it for that kinda stuff.

If you find a good deal ... grab it up before they are gone .

I was the same way about the LCI .. HATED!! it ..
scraped the red letters out . they are white beneath.

but after awhile i came to appreciate it .
for a few different reasons .
also you can shave it down a bit . if it really bothers you .

man i have been looking at the sig p320 for those same reasons .

i think that might be wave of the future for pistols .. multiple calibers

how much did you pay for the m&p 40 with extra barrel & etc parts ?

It was 450 used. I got a blem storm lake barrel for 130. Mags were 22. You can convert to 3 calibers with ~80 buck factory barrels. They just drop in and go.

Caliber conversions arent for everyone, but i like it a lot. The price difference between the two guns is small. Sv's seem pretty expensive locally; usually over 400.
