Looking for DE .50 in So Cal.

Hi Gang,

I'm brandy new here. 1st post ( WOOHOO! ).

I am looking for a Desert Eagle .50 in So California. I have been looking
( repeat 5 times ) for one to no avail. I have seen a couple of success stories around so maybe if I have some other people looking out for me as well I will better my chances. Anyway any help I can get I sure would appreciate it.

If I can find a .44 reasonably priced then I can get the conversion barrel and mag.

You *JUST* missed the sale that Turners had where the Desert Eagles were on sale.

In California, only two models are approved. The black oxide one, and a hard chromed one. It looks stainless, but it's not. BOTH are chambered only in .44 mag so you have to buy the .50 barrel.

You could pick up an early pre-roster one that originally came in .50, but you'd have to post a WTB ad to find one probably.

I was in a gun store yesterday and they have several DE's in .44 and they have the .50 barrel and mags but after all is said and done your set back about 2 grand. Oh well if that's what it takes.

i was just in a store the other day and saw the same thing. on top of that the new DE's are crap, compared to the older REAL DE's. makes me sick seeing how california is doing this. you relise its probably somthing to do with hollywood and the over use of the DE, that they know makes it an iconic pistol so they try and do this crap to ruin it for everyone. oh well, beter way to spend 1500, but thats just in my opinion

Damn straight! I used to have a MK VII in .44 mag some 10 years ago and it was the biggest POS that I`ve ever owned. Well my excuse is I was young and dumb.

Well guys, I find that I like the gun. I had a .44 some time ago and found it very accurate and pretty fun to shoot. 75 ft range I would bullseye half the mag and even sometimes more. It is called to each his own. My favorite most of all is that it is comfortable in my hand. The HK's. Glocks, and Sig's are a bit small in my hand and a little on the light side. my next favorite is the HK USP45. That would have been the gun I would buy next.

Like you said, to each their own...and the DE is accurate, that`s true. However, it`s unwieldly and of poor quality.

Hopefully, CalGuns will help you to understand our crazy laws here in CA.

oji, funny you should say that. I'm going to steer ( ha ha get it ) away from the subject for a moment. When you said socal22lrlover it made me chuckle. I have a 22LR rifle that is awesome. One day I took it to the range. I got a 3-9x scope for it ( just for ****s and giggles ). Anyway, I was going to sight in the scope. So I loaded it up. Holds 14 rds. I got the target down range and in the scope and I fire a couple. I expected to see shots like in the tan outer area but I didn't see any. So I keep capping off the rest and nothing. So I bring the tarket in to 50ft. Load up more and start popping off more. Still I see nothing. I bring the target back and there is literally no center of the target. I just couldnt see it because it was a black target. You know the stardard bullseye kind. I was like damn. I am going to hook up with my neighbor sometime since he goes to an outdoor range. We'll see how far that keeps up.

Why spend two grand on a gun like that? There are more effective guns for a fraction of the price. If you really need a handgun that powerful go for a S&W 500,IIRC the gun is cheaper than the desert eagle and the s&w ammo packs a bigger punch. I fired it once, it was fun.

If he wants to spend 2k on the DE its his money. Why do us AR guys spend more than that for the tacticool. I agree the S&W 500/S&W ammo packs a punch without punching you.

But, if he wants that DE hes going to get his DE.
