1911 clone accuracy problem

I have a llama max1 government only a few years old probably has 400 to 500 rounds thru it as far as reliability goes its never fail to feed or go bang . as far as accuracy goes its terrible maybe worse than terrible i am lucky if i can keep 7 shots on a two foot target at 20 yard or even 15 yards . I am not the best pistol shot but im not that bad i can hold 3 to 5 inch groups at the same distance with 44mag or 357 or 9mm .

So my question is what is wrong with the gun that could cause this ? and is it fixable ? . i love 1911 style pistols and i would like this one to shoot well but if i can not fix it ill have to get a new pistol . ill take any excuse to buy anew gun lol

Most of the time, I'd say production guns can and will outshoot the shooter. In this case.... probably not so.


Honestly don't dump money into a Llama. Look into a Rock Island Armory 1911 and sell off the llama.

My friend got a cheap one: Auto Ordnance for $450 and still very accurate for years.

Four things to check.

0. It might be you. See if others can wrong better performance from the weapon.
1. Fit of slide to frame.
2. fit of barrel bushing to barrel
3. tightness of barrel lockup with slide.

Those you can fix fairly inexpensively. And do it yourself if you have a bit of mechanical aptitude.

After that it's barrel replacement. At which point you are already over the amount of money you should spend on a Llama.

With I hope the condition he warns a potential purchaser or lets them shoot it 1st. I have a feeling this may be an easy fix. But maybe not.

the slide fits tight no rattling when you shake it this is probably an extremely noob question but how do i check the other two things properly ? i dont think barrel replacement is possible i read on m1911forums that this llama uses not standard barrel length but numeric does have used barrels for the gun in excellent condition

RIA's tend to be $400ish, I want a .38super one possibly.

Llamas seem to sell around $200-300.
