    CZ p07 Backstraps

Well, I must say, I switched the backstraps around for the first time last night, and the "large" makes the DA trigger feel so much better. That girth puts the bones in my fingers in order and makes it very easy to squeeze off the relatively heavy DA trigger without losing my sight alignment. Even/Especially when holding the gun with one hand.

I have mostly been shooting it in SA, and didn't have a ton of confidence with a first DA pull, but now it's allllllll good.

Just thought I'd mention it for the guys and gals here that may have been finding the DA break a little hard to keep totally steady. I didn't notice how bad I had it till I changed it out. Just don't let the spring hit ya in the eye when you push that pin

I have the P-09 in jail with 9 days to go... I'm pretty sure that it shipped with the medium backstrap... I'll be doing the same and trying the large one.

If it's like the p07 it comes with the small. Which is very comfortable out of the box, probably more comfortable... but I have come to find comfort and accuracy are often times at opposite sides of the spectrum. It's easy to shoot in SA no matter what.

Maybe it is the small, because the two left in the box look too close in size.

They normally come with the small one installed.
I have a good size hand and did not like the feel of it with the large one installed.
The medium feels good but still thinking the small might be better. I am in the spot where I believe my perfect one would be between small and medium.
In the future, I may shape the large one to end up with something better for me.
It is always fun playing around to see what works best.

Yes, all three provided a good platform for shooting, i.e. the front sight had minimal movement throughout the DA pull.
The difference I noticed is how much of heel of the support hand wraps around the grip. The medium opens up some space which allows more contact between the grip and heel of the support hand.
The down side is how much of the heel of the firing hand contacts the rear of the grip. The large insert almost has the heel only making contact on the side of the grip. The medium insert allows for a little bit of wrap around so the heel does contact the side and rear of the grip. The small gives a more secure grip as the heel is completely in contact with the rear of the grip.

When i get my P-09 in December i am going straight to the large backstrap, hopefully ill be able to get away without using a griprap as well.

Did anyone have a tough time punching out the pin to change backstraps? Suggestions for stuck pin?

Yeah I was changing mine around for the first time last night. i ended up going with the medium. I would rather go with the large but I don't like arched main spring housings and the large really gets out there I wish it was flatter.

I'd like to try some grip tape would the 2014 use the same tape as the duty?

I also have some sights coming from dawson

^^^ if you push in on the mainspring cap a little you shouldn't have any problem with the pin

Push the lanyard ring up towards the grip. This will relieve the pressure off the pin and it should slide easily.

Remember that the lanyard ring is spring loaded (Main spring) so be careful when the pin is removed the spring and lanyard will spring out.

Yup, I figured this out when the lanyard ring shot out.

Yup. The pin is "waisted" so that the mainspring housing locks the pin in place.

If you are pushing that pin through without depressing the mainspring housing (lanyard loop), that extra force it takes is not only from the spring tension, but also from you shaving a bit of polymer off of the inside of that hole.

The best way I've found is to hold the gun upside down and wrap my pinky around the beavertail while depressing the lanyard loop with my thumb. Once the lanyard loop is pressed in just a touch, you should be able to push the pin out very easily. Just make sure the hammer is down .
