glock 19 slide

sorry this isn't an SSE question-

anyone know if one can purchase a standalone glock 19 slide/barrel and drop it on a 23 frame? I would prefer OEM and not priced the same as a new pistol. also- who sells them and does it matter gen4 or3?

I just can't shoot my 23 worth a damn so I thought I would try it as a 9mm. I know I can go a conversion barrel route but those aren't inexpensive either.

yes you absolutely can, i have 2 Glock 23's and had 2 Glock 19 Complete Slides, I just recently sold one of them, still have the other, had it cerakoted Burnt Bronze, just shot 5 (glock 19) mags through it, no problem whatsoever
i also have a LoneWolf 23 to 9 (LWD-239) conversion barrel that i've gone through 3 days of a 4 day Front Sight Handgun course with, no problems at all
i prefer the complete top end, not sure why, the conversion barrel allows me to use it on both the 23 and the 27, where the complete slide wont work on both of course.
i have not changed the extractor or anything else, i switch the slides and shoot
I;ve used the same Glock 19 slide on both my Glock 23's and neither have had any issues

I converted my G23 to a 9mm with a Stormlake 23/9 barrel. I got a deal & free shipping from midwayusa, but they run about 160$ A buddy at the Glockstore suggested Stormlake & I'm glad he did. Gun is now much better than the former G19 I had & more accurate. Buy a slide if you must, but I'm stoked at the performance, fit & function.

As I mentioned before, I have 2 glock 23s, and I have had no problems with either a complete glock 19 top/slide or with the lone wolf conversion barrel, if they were both installed on my 23s at the same time and I needed one, I would not even try to make a choice, just grabbing either would not concern me at all, both options perform well, of course the conversion barrel option is cheaper
And yes, be sure to get glock 19 magazines
