10 round mag for double stack 1911

I have a rock island armory 1911 commander chambered in 22 TCM. It accepts 38 super 17 round magazines. I want to bring it to California, so I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find 10 round magazines for it, or if my magazines can be modified?

Para P18.9 mags would be your best bet. Unfortunately they are pretty difficult to find. I have one, but modified 38 super mags to work. I would hold on to your mags and just buy mag blocks which should get you the ten rounds you need. Contact Gunfighter Tactical in Miramar, they should be able to get you the blocks you need so you don't have to search for new mags.

Edit: In order to use the mag blocks you would have to epoxy the baseplate to make it permanent. Which would then make your mags CA legal.

      STI Magazine Block

You'll have to trim it a bit or you'll end up with a 6-round mag.

I will definately look for some of the para mags, but I think I will be ordering a couple of the mag blocks. That seems to be the easiest. Thank you both.

The RI mag has a locking plate on the bottom of the spring that locks into the base plate. The STI mag block may not work .
I used a dowel and screw it into the locking plate
