I did some 1911 roster studying when I was planning out which SSE 1911's I wanted to squeeze in before the end of the year. Here's some of my notes/links:
Wilson Combat: http://www.wilsoncombat.com/new/california-approved.asp
Ed Brown: http://www.edbrown.com/california.htm
Les Baer: http://www.lesbaer.com/website/calif.html
Nighthawk Custom: 9 models in about 20 different configurations
Guncrafter Industries: Model 1 & Model 2 (both 50GI)
Dan Wesson: Commander Classic Bobtail & PM7 (Stainless)
Springfield: Professional1911-A1 (custom shop), Custom Carry 1911-A1 (custom shop), TRP Operator full rail, TRP no rail and more lower level 1911's.
Colt: about 30 1911 configurations listed on the roster
Sig Sauer: 10 1911 configurations listed on the roster
Kimber: about 40 1911 configurations listed on the roster
Para USA (Para Ordnance): about 70 1911 configurations on the roster
Armscor Precision: about 15 1911 configurations on the rosterComment

1911's on roster
^^^ this guy pretty well covered it. There are several Baers and Browns, as well as the DW PM-7. Also the Springfield TRP models, and MC Operator. Enough to make me feel like I don't need to rush out and get one before the end of the year.
The DW PM-9 is the only one I'm kinda sad I can't find.Comment

FYI - the DW PM-7 falls off the roster on 1/31/2015...Comment

If you look on budsguns.com they show the name of the gun like "TRP, MC Operater" ect. then also show the model number that you can use to reference on the CA roster.Comment

Bud's makes it even easier. They have a "California Compliant" guns section that is sortable by caliber. So you can easily see which guns Bud's has that are on the roster.Comment

While this is all true, and thank you for posting this, I would like to make a point on one gun in specific that might carry over to other models as well.I did some 1911 roster studying when I was planning out which SSE 1911's I wanted to squeeze in before the end of the year. I was in the market for a WC CQB, I found one used in like new condition at my LGS. I was not very impressed with it to say the least. I did some further research, come to find out that Wilson has updated a lot of parts on the current CQB but can't update the CA version because it would obviously make it "unsafe" haha.... I purchased the new version, SSE, all black, with "100% bullet proof parts," that's superior to the older CA version. So my point is we can often get the older often sub par versions of these guns. I know Ed Brown just raised his prices across the board, but also made some improvements on one of his cast parts, it's now machined I believe. NHC has some unique features and newer parts used on some models like the Falcon, and of course it's not on the roster, and might never be. If you have a SSE slot open get the 1911 of your dreams now while you still can.Last edited by Sure Shot 45; 11-22-2014, 11:27 AM.Comment

It's a very limited and somewhat pricey production gun. Manufacturers tended not to list such firearms even when they could place new guns on the roster. They can easily sell the entire annual production in the free states without discount so why pay the fees and fork over 3 guns when you're only building 400 a year.^^^ this guy pretty well covered it. While the statement about the cast parts are true on the CA compliant Wilson's. I don't think they entirely make the CA compliant version a non viable option.
Here are the differences, based on a Wilson combat rep
CA Guns have
Old grips/medallions
Cast thumb safety
Cast mag catch
2-piece magwell
Old style sights
Standard markings
Standardized options (no changes)
I don't consider those parts to be ones that would make the it function less than a bullet proof Wilson ( except for maybe the safety). All of the major parts like frame / slide, ignition components, barrel, bushing and hand fitting is what makes a Wilson a Wilson I think. So do let it discourage you from not getting a CA compliant Wilson. If it bugs you enough you can always send it in to have those simple parts replaced.
That said.... I opted to get a custom Wilson that was off roster to get the custom work done to it to get it how I wanted it to look so if that is what your after with any custom 1911 then use an SSE on it.
