I was just cleaning my glock and I noticed a ugly chunk of plastic hanging onto my receiver by a small tab of plastic. I have owned my glock for about 6 years and never noticed it. It only took a small yank to take the piece off the receiver but now I am wondering if maybe that piece was part of something more important that had been worn down by wear and tear. Is it normal for glocks to have small pieces of misshapen plastic attatched to the frame that need to be plucked off??

Dude, relax, it is probably just a thin piece of plastic left over from the molding process. It probably came off from around the steel frame rail inserts...relax...unless there is a BIG chunk missing from a critical part of the frame.....Originally posted by Leon_DeGammewell...i plucked the offending piece off the receiver..so theres really nothing to see. Just use a little common sense and inspect your frame for defects.Expert firearms attorney: https://www.rwslaw.com/team/adam-j-richards/

ok...I have a pic of where the piece was that I pulled off. It was on the top part of that slanted piece near the edge. Unfortunately I cant take a personal picture of my glock because my digital camera doesnt take very clear pictures. If anyone has a pic of what their lower receiver looks like from a more frontal angle, I could see if theres anything missing from mine. Im a little worried because the piece I pulled off looked big enough to be important, but I am not sure.Attached FilesLast edited by Leon_DeGamme; 06-12-2006, 10:16 PM.Comment

It's only worth $50, I'll give you $101.
Seriously, Glock armorers consider "X-acto" knives part of their tool kit. That is just leftover flash from molding. Now if you pulled a rail off, then you might have a problem.Comment
