Hogue P226 Checkered Aluminum - Brushed Gloss Clear Anodized

I wanted to reduce my grip size on my P226 SS, so i replaced the stock plastics with the Hogue AL grips. I wanted my index finger's pad to be slightly closer to the first knuckle crack on the trigger. I feel more accurate with my pistol with my finger held comfortably there. I'm not so sure if the new grips reduced anything from the stock grips. Is the grip reduction claim of Al grips only for the Sig Sauer (SS) AL grips? I do feel more bite in the grips though, which is a good thing for me. I'll see how she shoots this weekend.

the alum grips are nice but man do they get hot quick in the summer.
