Recently purchased a Mk.25 and to my dissappointment they came with Checkmate magazines which are known to cause FTF and the slide not locking back after the last round. Anyone here have a similar experience with their newly purchase SIG? For anyone who doesn't know what magazine you got the ones that say Made in USA are made by Checkmade, while if it says Made in Italy those are made by MecGar.

I bought a Mec Gar for my older p226 at CDNN sports, for $22.99 I like it, half price of the Sig ones.

CheaperThanDirt has some for $19 as well. That being said for the price that MecGars sell their mags I don't understand how Sig felt they needed to cut corners for an extra $3-6 profit. Especially when people are having problems with the Checkmate mags.I bought a Mec Gar for my older p226 at CDNN sports, for $22.99 I like it, half price of the Sig ones.

EDIT: wait nevermind, Checkmate mags actually cost MORE than MecGar in most online outlets. Now I'm confused...Last edited by _TomT_; 11-20-2014, 11:35 AM.Comment

My MK25 came with the Checkmates, and have run flawlessly. I was pissed when I saw them in my case (because of the bad press,) but I trust them now. That being said, I still prefer the MecGar just for piece of mind. AS far as I know, the USA mags are now CM.Comment

Every time I see the word Sig now, i automatically assume it's about the sig brace lolComment

Not sure why people or the OP are calling Checkmate crap. They make some of the best 1911 mags. I sold my Wilson's in favor of the Checkmates.Comment
