Sending handgun out for custom work

I have a CZ SP-01 that I would like to send to Cajun Gun Works for the defensive package. How would I go about doing that? Do I go through an FFL or can I send it out myself? Can they ship it back to me directly or do I have to go through an FFL and pay transfer?

Next day air ups or fedex to ffl. Might be cheaper to send thru ffl since they can use usps and we cannot without ffl. Cajun guns can ship direct to you.

If you take it to a UPS or FedEx main hub, you can ship it directly to Cajun Gun Works. Cajun Gun Works can then ship it back to you directly as long as you use your name and home address as the return address. You have to ship overnight though and you can't use usps.

While most of what you said is true, you can ship through FedEx or UPS without an FFL. Box the gun up, go to the UPS store and ship it. You don't have to declare what's in the box! Some stores will have you ship from the hub itself.

I shipped my Kimber back for service through my work. Discrete box and plenty of insurance!

FedEx's policy is that you have to declare what's in the box if it contains a firearm. They probably have to make sure one of the regular drivers doesn't deliver it because the firearm might end up "lost."

That is what I said. All of what I SAID IS TRUE. Where did I say it had to go thru ffl.? You always have to declare if you are shipping a firearm you just don't label outside of package that it contains a firearm.

One other thing, I think he's really scrambling to prioritize Californians who bought new guns through him first. If he doesn't finish the work on those in time, people are gonna be unable to SSE their guns before the end of the year...

1. When they ask what's in the box advise them it's "machined parts" which is true.

2. If you insure it for more than $500 they will want to inspect what's in the package. I shipped mine through Fed Ex.

Get the Pro-Package. It's amazing. It's worth the extra $88.

What other extras do you get over the defensive

I'm planning on sending mine in sometime in January, how many of you have sent in a .40 to have either the SD package or the Pro Package done, I've shot a 9MM Shadow and was very impressed, I would like to know if anyone has gotten they're .40 done and how you would rate it's performance after either package was installed.

Just FYI title 27 . 478.31 states that any person who ships firearm or ammunition by common carrier interstate has to notify the carrier. The carrier may not demand that the outside of the package be labeled as containing a firearm. Lots of posts on this here.
