    My new Sig P938

Got it SSE and picked up today. What a wait! I swear I have done the ten day wait before, but it has never felt like as long as this one.

A little back story for ya. I had a ppk/s made by interarms, which was fun and very accurate, but expensive to shoot. I would always say might as well shoot my 45 over the 380, same price for ammo. The ppk/s was also very heavy. I carried it in Yuma while I was there for the dove opener this year, and after walking around the field for a few hours with the ppk/s I put it back in the truck. Its solid steel design felt like it was a ton. I began to understand why so many had turned to lighter alternative materials. Loved it, but not to death. I ended up letting it go to pay for the Sig P938, which for me was a no brainer being that it was a) the same manual of controls as my RIA Tactical, and Colt Gold Cup my home defenders, and b)9mm which is hands down better than 380 in many peoples opinions, and lastly c) cheaper to shoot than both my 45's and the ppk/s.

Here is the box it came in.

So my P938 came with one 6 round mag, lock, chamber flag, synthetic lube, plastic holster, and some flyers.

I would have traded the holster and chamber flag for more magazines though.
Here it is with the 7 round mag found on ebay for $30

with the six round flush mag

All in all I think this is a great carry gun. It weighs so much less than the ppk/s did. I was a little apprehensive about recoil being that it was a step up from 380, and very light and small, but the recoil on this lil guy is not even that snappy imo. Okay okay it is snappy if you one hand it i guess. It has the best sights of any firearm I own other than an optic of course. The trigger definitely not a 1911 trigger that is for sure, but honestly it isn't a bad trigger to me. I don't have a way to measure it, but it didn't seem that heavy to me. The grips screws were ready to come out by the time i got it home, but I just tightened them up. I want hogue grips for it anyways, or maybe some nice custom wood I dunno. I put 100 rounds of WWB 115 grains through it today, and the only hiccup that occured was the six round mag double ejected or something. Only happened twice, and only with the six round mag. I loaded the mag fired and when it ejected a spent casing it also tossed an unfired round out with it. I think it may have been due to the mag springs being so stiff. The seven round mag I got a week ago, and like all my new guns loaded the mag up and put it in the safe. I was not able to do this with the six rounder since I only got it today with the gun. The seven round mag functioned flawlessly. The seven rounder also does aid in control-ability.

Anyways thanks for reading. Post some pics if you got one especially if you have mods done to it.

You made an excellent choice. I carry two of them during the warmer months here in Alabama. Best of all, they field trip pretty easily, like a more modern semi-auto with no bushing to deal with. I'm surprised yours did not come with a 7-round pinky-extension magazine. Both of mine came with both 7 and 6 rounders.

I would strongly recommend getting the hogue rubber grip for this: they feel wonderful on mine and make for more comfortable and accurate shooting.

                  My new Sig P938

I absolutely love mine. 938 SAS. Seems to be more accurate than the XDs, but you would expect that from a 1911-type trigger. Put 200 rounds (7 different brands) through when I picked it up, had a light primer strike at 107. Couple drops of oil in the firing pin and ran great from there (I didn't oil anything prior to the first, just swabbed the barrel). My only complaint is the groves trigger, which started to be a pain after the 150 mark.

I love my P938 SAS. Great shooter. In the beginning I had a heck of time getting the spring and guide rod back in.
                    I think it's a perfect CCW.

Ill have to up the round count next time i go, the checkering and serrations on the trigger didnt bug me. The guid rod and recoil spring were something else though. I found the spring had a lot of tension and took some finagling to get them back in the slide without bending the spring.
