Suppose that some sort of silly ban passes and by some mechanism of the law, your personal finances, or your spouse you are only allowed ONE semi-auto centerfire handgun. What would it be? Let's say you're still allowed to buy revolvers and rimfire handguns.

I say one 1911 frame and many different slide options, such as a .17mach2, .22lr, 45ACP & 460 Rowland.

A Glock 22 would be a good bet. You can have 40, 357sig, and 9mm barrels for it, and an Advantage Arms .22 conversion as well.

I'd keep my Steyr M40, been a great handgun, zero problems, and it's pretty easy to get ammo for it.

For the sake of discussion, suppose you had just had all of your handguns lost/stolen/sold/destroyed in a fire/flood/earthquake/peasant uprising and can only get one before the grandfathering period. Or you could just tell us which one is your favorite.
