    Who shoots .38 Super?

What do you shoot in .38 Super?
What do you like about it?
    Any issues beyond ammo scarcity?

I'm debating this as my last SSE.

It is popular in Mexico because of caliber restrictions.

It was originally marketed to cops as a way to convince those who liked their .38 revolvers to move over to an auto.

I have never shot any myself.....but I would love to at some point.

      Ammo isn't scarce, just expensive.
      Sorry, not sorry.

I inherited a colt 38 super which my dad loved. It's a great shooting gun/round.

38 Super, although not a military caliber, is also banned in Mexico.

It was originally developed to pierce car bodies and early cotton body armor, but was outclassed in that area by the .357 Magnum several years later. Now its a way for competitors to squeeze more speed out of a 9MM bullet, but its not too practical for much else. Its expensive and with modern bullets, 9MM NATO and .40 will serve just as well for home defense. I think owning a 1911 in .38 Super would be cool if I had lots of money, but there's other guns I'd get much sooner.

.38 Super has been illegal in Mexico since 1972.

It's a sweet round. I have a RIA 38 Super, I slapped on the Tokarev conversion barrel kit from J&G. The 38 super magazines hold the 7.62x25 rounds without a problem. The RIA 38 super extractor works (tuned) right out of the box for Tokarev rounds.

                  5.13" barrel 85gr bullet @ 1790 fps. Enjoy.

                    1.Taurus pt38s and before a taurus pt1911 in 38 super.

2.Its a very flat shooting round, very accurate.

                    3.nope

Current production .38 supers are accurate. I like mine a lot. I load blue dot and 130gr FMJ bullets to a very respectable velocity.

LAX Ammo usually has 38 super in stock. I'm thinking of getting one too...

My uncle owns a 1911 .38 super.. Not sure how to answer you question tho, it shoots nice.. Moderate recoil, about as loud at my glock 19 9mm. I like it, only thing that scares me owning one is non of my lgs carrie .38super just .38special and its a bit pricey.. I think its a nice round, colt claimed it to be good for any size game..

I have noticed hat colt's chambered in .38 seem to be more expensive.. Em I right?

Expensive round but it's all right to shoot for fun.
