First world problems... SIG Sauer experts needed.

I decided on a Sig for my final SSE slot, however I don't know which one however I did manage to eliminate the choices down to:

    P226 Standard - 9mm 40SW
    P226 Enhance Elite - 9mm or 40SW
    P226 Mk25 - 9mm
    P229 Standard - 9mm or 40SW
    P229 Enhance Elite - 9mm or 40SW

The conceivability of the P229 appeals to me however I've always been attracted to the longer barrel P226 simply because I love shooting longer barrels. I know most of the things I listed is on the roster in their CA compliant version, I just am not a big fan of the ugly CA compliant LCI.

I have a 229 in 40 and find it noticeably more snappy than the 226. I know this throws a wrench in your list but I would recommend a 226 stainless or elite stainless.

I bought my first Sig recently. After shooting P229 Scorpion and P226 I decided I wanted the P229 size as my first and possibly only Sig.

I then chose the P229 Enhanced Elite in 9mm. I hate 40 like I hate Kamala. Can DROS it till the end of the month.

Do you guys think the beavertail is necessary for the P229? Dose it help with follow-up shots that much to warrant an extra $260?

LGS has a p229 standard for $640 and EE for $900, I know the EE has a SRT and NS but I don't really care much for both of those as opposed to the beavertail.

My choices came down to the Extreme and Enhanced Elite.

The Scorpion I shot had the beavertail and it didn't bother me. I just knew that I liked shooting the Scorpion better so I figured I best get the beavertail. As long as you know how to grip a pistol, I honestly think its cosmetic. You don't need a beavertail to control recoil, especially in 9mm.

BTW - what's Kamala, is it some sort of Indian cuisine?

                  I voted mk25

Personally, I'm not a fan of the enhanced elite. I find the beaver tail unnecessary and ugly. Also I hate the short reach trigger.

I'm also a fan of the 9mm platform. What I would add to the mk25 though is the short reset trigger. Makes it a really sweet gun. Also I would switch out the grips to anything other than the standard Sig grips, for me they flex under even a little bit of pressure.

As to the 229 and especially the ee with beaver tail it is not very concealable, so might as well go full size.

A standard 226 is probably more "worth it" over a mk25. Even though I have the mk25, the phosphate coating and anchor, probably not worry the extra $

I have a 229r elite, don't get a California version, no barrel swaps. The 229 and 226 are very similar but the 229 has a slightly thicker grip for more rounds, and fits my larger hands well, but 10 rounds max so no advantage, and is slightly more compact.
I seem to shoot Sigs more accurately than other guns, the shorter "carry' size Sigs feel more balanced too me. 40 s/w version can be changed to 357 sig with just a barrel swap, 9mm will need a caliber x-change kit for other calibers.

The EE comes with the same Short Reset Trigger found in the MK25.

Concur with tonyxcom, between shooting my 9mm P226 Stainless Elite with beavertail and the 9mm P226 Navy without, I think the beavertail is really a question of cosmetics. Although it really does give the butt end of the pistol a nice aesthetic look, IMHO.

The Mk.25 is very appealing to me solely from its historical value. That being said I doubt I can find a non-CA one before SSE is up.

sigs have a high bore axis, so beaver tail not really necessary
