I put another 150 rounds through my 92FS today with much better results. The first 300 I just wanted to put through the pistol without much technique, just pure exhilaration, reminded me of my twenties...
A couple things are evident, I am very awkward with my offhand, my thumb is up by the slide release, then its interfering with my trigger finger, then I'm tucking it in like a fist.
It was at the first line in Iron Sights, ~20' I imagine.
I was still plenty wild on the first 50:

I was shooting a backwards Z (Red - Blue - Aqua - Green - Yellow). I lost a red round in the middle somewhere... Low and to the left was my name last time, was looking to pan out that way. I keep rushing it but I slowed down on the last three.
Second 50:

Same order. Rushing it and shooting low again. Slowed down on the last three. I found myself focusing on the target instead of the front sight. Made an effort not to.
Last 50:

I was making an effort to shoot just a hair higher, it is a little non-intuitive to cover the sight with the dot on the sight, but that is a me thing. Unloaded a few out of another mag on the little symbol below which are those errant shots.
In just 100 rounds I really feel like I reigned it in a lot and was pleased. Any other pointers to try and keep in my mind while at the range would be appreciated.
After the first sheet I was ready to throw up my hands and declare defective, remark how the sights are off and flame my beautiful Beretta. Slowing down a little bit really helped, and my offhand settled down but it still isnt comfortable. Ill be practicing that with my snapcaps in the living room, but nothing replaces that boom!
Oh, the suggestion of both foam ear plugs and over the ear plugs worked great. I do believe it made a huge difference. Also I was pleased that the group before me had a lady and the gentleman behind the counter told them that most woman preferred to use both.
