Calling all CZ Experts! Need advice on Accu-shadow build

Hello gents, I needed some advice on build options for a CZZ SP-01 Target Accu-Shadow I have on order from Automatic Accuracy.

Mainly on the sights, grips and trigger.

I am leaning towards the thin Aluminum CZ grips for the thinnest grip possible as I have small hands. I love VZ grips, and have not used the thin aluminum grips before, so looking for any feedback on those.

For the trigger, I am leaning towards 85 Combat new style, once again for reach issues. Might go with the 85 combat older style for a bit more comfort. Any advice on triggers is welcome. I have small hands (glove size small).

For the sights, I am leaning towards a Dawson 175 for the front sight, and want to get the thinnest sight possible. Do like the CZCustom fiber optics, but maybe wanted something a bit thinner and more precise.

Thank you for any feedback you can offer, it is much appreciated!

Well are you going to play any gun games with it? The Accu Shadow upgrade would keep you from playing in IDPA but it is allowed in USPSA. Although it makes an accurate gun even more so, I don't think it is needed unless Bullseye shooting is your goal.

I used the thin aluminum grips for years but I went back to the stock rubber grips since they weigh twice as much and they feel better with the palm swells and the thumb rests and I have small girly hands.

The 85 Combat trigger is a great setup and since it is a Factory CZ part, it should be allowed for use in the SSP and production classes.

I have the Dawsons and the CZ sights. I would get the CZ sights if you want the 1.5mm FO, otherwise get the Dawsons. The height of the sight is critical, so you need to know where your shots are landing.

It might be best to go with the new style 85 Combat trigger. It shortens the trigger position a little bit due to being thinner. The old style is thinker and pushes your finger out a bit further.

Here is a reference picture for the grips.

The Dawson .090 FO front is quite narrow. Nice for faster focus on the front sight.

LOL, I have all three of those grips.

I am going to order the wider Dawson sights for my Longslide Shadow after I do more load testing since my rear sight is something ridiculous like a .172 or something.

Maybe the both of you should swing by my house so you can see them for yourself.

The 85 combat trigger with the shorter disconnector has a really short reset and is easy to reach in SA mode.

If you have trouble reaching the trigger get the newer 85c trigger from CGW Which has a set screw for pre-travel and over-travel adjustment with the hybrid reach reduction/T1 (non fpb) disco. The only thing is it is not allowed in competition as the pretravel set screw is visible. The CZ slim aluminum grips will also help with your trigger reach and your grip with smaller hands. VZ grips are thicker.

I see no trigger reach issue here ...
