    G19 recoil spring question

I searched and couldn't find anything related to this.

My aunt has a G19 (9mm), but she has a very hard time pulling the slide back to chamber a round. I was wondering if there are any lighter recoil springs out there that will not affect the functioning.
She's in her late 60s but she's not a frail old lady either. She has had the gun for about 5 years but has always had to use a table or what ever she could to help her chamber a round.

    Any info would be appreciated.

You can always get a different spring, but it may affect functionality depending on the load.

Not trying to be funny, but they have charge handles for Glocks, too.

those ideas above are a good option if concealing isn't a concern

Shooting a couple thousand rounds through it will do wonders also

I just purchased my 2nd G19 and its noticably stiffer compared to my other 19 which is 5 years old and about 2,000 rounds in

If you change springs, you will probably need to get a new guide rod since the stock one doesn't come apart easily. I got a steel guide rod and a 15 lb ISMI spring for my 19C (which I think you can get for like $20 on fleabay) and it is easy to rack.

Are there any issues with the lighter spring?

There might be a slight perception of more recoil to some, but I didn't notice.
