.41 mag

An Alaskan hiker wrote a thread at Jesse's Outdoors that the .41 mag has become the prefered carry weapon in bear country. The 260 grain bullet penetrates deeper than other cartridges. I read a write up in Handgunner's digest that showed the .41 going 3-4 inches deeper. I used to own a couple of .41's. Accurate, powerful, and expensive ammo to buy if you can find any. I wish I hadn't sold the 657's. Paid $465 each in 1996. Sold the 657,s to a CHP officer.
