EMP - Ejector dragging on slide?

Last range session sent 200 rounds through my EMP (about 2k total now). After this last trip, the slide is difficult to remove/reinstall. It didn't cause any malfunctions at the range, but it definitely could if left unchecked.

It seems like the top of the ejector is too high, causing it to rub in the ejector channel in the slide. I know EMPs ejectors are glued and complaints of ejector problems SA will pin them. Is there any way to tell if this is the issue? I can't wiggle the ejector or even perceptibly move it pressing on it. Albeit, not sure what else it could be. The face of the ejector is not deformed or bent that I can tell.

My front Trijicon sight post lamp has failed for the 2nd time (lamp fell out). The first time it just stopped lighting up. So, it's definitely going back to SA. However, I want to be sure of the fault before I send it back to make sure it was properly fixed. Ostensibly I (or SA) could "fix" this by just sanding down the top of the ejector, but that doesn't seem like the proper route for an ejector that used to work properly.

    Some photos:

Top of the ejector hits the slide when attempting to install slide on frame. You can still do it, but you have to force the slide on.

Once the slide is installed, it's at this point moving forward where the slide starts to bind.

Picture of the ejector from the side. Doesn't look like the ejector's bent out of shape, but maybe the gap between the ejector and frame has increased?

Scratch that, was able to confirm the ejector's the problem. Flipped the frame upside down and pressed the ejector between the frame and workbench. The ejector audibly and visibly seated back in. The gap you can see in the last pic is gone. After that, no more binding on the slide.

    Back to SA it goes!

First thing I did when I picked up my EMP was pin my ejector. Why SA does NOT do this in the first place is beyond me. Any serviceable 1911 should have a pinned ejector.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

Agreed. It's not cheap pistol and I don't think it's too stretched to say it's purpose built SD weapon. Isn't the place to cut corners.

I can blame Trijicon for the tritium problems, but this ejector deal is going to stick in my craw.

When I sent my EMP in, they had it for 5 days. 2 days there and back..So 9 days from the time i dropped it off at Fedex.

By the way, fedex sells there "tablet" shipping box for 10 bucks. This is the perfect size and the foam cutouts inside really fit the emp snug. I'd buy that to ship it back in.

Or you can save the $10 and send it in a FREE FedEx small flat rate box.

In any case, SA buys shipping both ways.

What do you use to protect it in the box?
