I would check the magazine feed lips. I remember that my P08 had a similar issue so try a good/new mag and see what happens

Mine has no ejection problems, but it does sound like you might have magazine issues. Although if it's doing this on two guns and 2-4 magazines, then I might suspect ammo. I always feed mine cheap 115gr FMJ (assuming yours is 9 mm), seems to work fine. And my cases do pop just about straight up, which can be entertaining.

I'm guessing that he means that the cartridge goes vertical and is slammed sideways by the Breech assembly which is what mine would sometimes do. I agree that the ejection was entertaining with hot shells dropping in my shirt pocket or down my neck...

That's exactly what my Luger kept doing, before I learned that it was actually chambered for .30 Luger, not 9mm.

Mine get launched pretty high, so it's the person standing behind me who gets pelted with hot brass dropping out of the sky, about 1 second after I fire.

I heard the Krauts switched to P38 not just because it was cheaper, but because it wasn't so dependent on ammo quality.

To me that means "shape", so I'd try about dozen diff types first, and only FMJ.
