Is there a handy-dandy thread on building AR pistols from paperweights that may have guidance on the following:
1. How does one go about putting on a serial number etc. on the receiver?
2. When registering, what caliber does one put on the volreg form
3. If I want to switch from 223 to 300BLK, is that legal with a registered AR Pistol?
4. Will the procedures change for legally constructing an AR pistol after 12/31/2014? (Does the SSE ban apply?)
I am aware that there is no legal requirement to either serialize or register a self-build, but if the easiest option for serializing is to use a hammer and metal stamps, it may be better to stamp the numbers in before starting to scoop out the metal.
