    SSE Keltec PLR-16...

Regarding the PLR-16 I gathered this from a 2008 post, is it still apt?

You could take advantage of the same single-shot exemption used by the recent AR pistol owners where you replace the magazine with a single-shot sled and remove the gas system, thereby exempting the pistol from the roster. Then when you receive it you can add a bullet button and fixed 10-round magazine and re-install the gas system (since it's fixed mag it's no longer an AW, just like OLL rifles). Personally I would not be willing to take that risk, but it is a possibility.
I imagine this is still the SSE process, but I would need to retain the bullet button? If so what advantage would be using my last SSE slot to do this opposed to just buying something next year that is considered a rifle.

I guess when it comes down to it, is the advantage of SSEing only for a shorter barrel? With the inability to add a stock legally, and having to readd the bullet button, I think I would use my last slot to draft another handgun (HK45c) rather than the PLR-16.

Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question, but most information I find is terse at best.

    1. Yes.
    2. You will never get the chance to do it again unless the roster falls off.
    3. These types of pistols are fairly useless due to the lack of a stock, bullet button, 10 round capacity, and shorter barrel. I am in the same situation as well. Do I get a Novelty firearm for the sake of having it or should I get something usefull. The struggle is real ...
