Cali laws suck.. Beretta 92S at Classic for $299

Italian police turn in Beretta 92S for $299. But not for us.

In order to meet the requirements of some law enforcement agencies, Beretta modified the original Model 92 by adding a slide-mounted combined safety and decocking lever, replacing the frame-mounted thumb safety. This resulted in the 92S, which was adopted by several Italian law enforcement and military units. The magazine release button is at the bottom of the grip as is customary in Europe. This model was produced from 1978 to 1982. These pistols are used, Italian Police trade-ins, that are in excellent operational condition and Very Good to Good exterior cosmetic condition. The amount of wear on the pistols varies, but you can expect some holster wear on the slides, as well as finish wear on any hard edges (such as around the trigger guard or beaver tail). Chambered in 9mm (9x19), the full size and moderate weight of the pistols contribute to them being very pleasant to shoot, and they make fantastic carry or home defense handguns. These pistols have lightweight alloy frames and steel slides. Each pistol will come with one (1) 15rd magazine, has a slide-mounted combined safety/decocker lever, and fixed sights.
"There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket."

Excerpt from a speech delivered in 1933, by Major General Smedley Butler, USMC.

I bought two from J&G in January, U.S. made trade ins, and they were both internally like new, probably only had qualifiers run through them. For $329, they were a bargain. Here's one:

        They both shoot very well.

            Really?
I would same a lot / most police officers do not shoot very often.
10,000 rounds would take many decades for the average police officer to fire.

LE or used gun may = +P+

LE friends told us to bite the bullet and buy new, never buy used and abused trade in's. They likely ruined some expensive guns, shooting wrong spec ammo in them, then got rid of them.

For this reason, I never buy used, unless it is an absolute necessity. Who knows how many rounds of +P+ fired?

Someone posted SIG voids the warranty, if they find out if +P+ was used in 226. Unknown about other manufacturers.

Unless you find LE guns that are in LNIB shape without any +P+ use.

There is still some time. Good luck finding a NIB

Other places have the same gun, same price give or take a few bucks.

Some of y'all are missing what I feel is the main point of owning this particular model, it's historical significance in the development of what would become the 92SBF & M9. It was the first model in the line with a slide mounted decocker/safety, for example. If I were more of a collector, I'd definitely want one.

Anybody have any idea how much the Italian police tend to shoot their sidearms? I'd venture a guess it's even less than the typical American PD.
I meant, it is my opinion that...

                          quoted from Sky.Hawk....

"Brand new Para 1911 Expert Govt Stainless pistols will be selling for $299 after rebate on Black Friday at Sportsman's Warehouse - in every state they operate in but Cali, because stupid roster."

that seems like a great deal!

does anyone know if we can S.S.E. these pistols anywhere in Northern California?

I mean you'd still be paying around $400+ but wouldn't that be better than a Rock Island armory?

according to the information I found on the interwebs (which is always dubious.) the para 1911 expert for $299 after rebate is a " in store only " deal.

that's a shame because I think they could sell truckloads of them at that price.

even if para isn't a high quality custom manufacturer.
