    H&K P30 thoughts?

    Afternoon all, and happy Friday

My local fleet farm has an HK P30 in stock on clearance for $750. Coupled with H&K's $200 rebate right now, I'm thinking of jumping on this deal as I've always wanted an H&K and how could I say no to a $600 P30 after tax and rebate?

My question is does anyone have any hands on experience with this gun? Impressions? I know H&K products are great quality wise, but I've heard that this gun is difficult to shoot with a standard "combat" type grip, and that it takes more of the Weaver style of pistol hold. I'm OK with that, just curious of anyone else's thoughts on the gun

Wow @ that price....I've always been a big fan of the p30. Great built, rock solid reliability, and points quite naturally. The trigger is pretty standard HK so you'll know what to expect.....LEM v.1 (light LEM) is really the way to go. Good luck with your decision.

I have almost 2000 rounds through mine and not one single issue. Awesome firearm. i've never heard of a combat grip...maybe combat trigger? Mags are a bit expensive and can be hard to find (10 rounders). But at that price, you cannot go wrong!

My last SSE is going to be a P30L V1 Light LEM, with the $200 rebate it's a no-brainer IMO.

              No Compromise.
At $600, better buy it before someone else beat you to it.

I have a P30, P30LS, VP9, HK45, & a few other HKs. Love the HKs as their quality have been consistently well made in my experience of the last 20 years of buying and shooting multiple guns from different manufacturers. However I do have 1 gripe...P30 slide stop is too long where the slide doesn't lock back after the last round due to riding the slide stop but am barely touching the slide stop. This is easily rectified by buying a short slide stop for $40. For the price you can get it for, I'd buy multiple if I could because each off my P30s costed a little over $1,000 OTD. I don't recommend you buy it....I INSIST you buy it at that price!

Grab it at that price. Great, reliable gun. I have one in in DA/ SA and light LEM. Both 100% reliable. Isosceles/ Weaver stances - it doesn't really matter. Just stick with the stance you always use and train with the gun - don't do something different because of the gun.

I shot my brothers P30. He bought it the week the gun came out. Best ergos of any gun I've ever held, great accuracy and reliability. Completely awful trigger.

                          A P30 for $600. DEW EET!

No they are not difficult to shoot. From 7 to 10 yards, the group sizes from my P30 are comparable to the sizes shooting from my 1911.

Agree that the DA trigger is long and heavy but I compared it to my DA/SA Sigs and DA/SA CZs and the HK DA has the best DA pull of the three.

I have hands on experience with P30L's in 9mm, DA/SA trigger. Hold one for 5 minutes and everything else from then on feels like a brick.

Compare it to a P30L to make sure the P30 length is what you really want, I prefer the P30-L. Also, find out what type of trigger is on it and do some research before you decide to buy it.
