If you were down on your luck and needed money for Christmas presents for the kids, would you sell your Smith and Wesson Model 10-5? If so, how much? just wondering.

$450.00-$650.00 depending on the shape it's in, but that's just me.... -
I'd think it would be worth anywhere between $350 & $500 depending on serial number and condition.
If it were a 10-6 .357 mag then it could fetch as much as $600Comment

Nope. I wouldn't sell it or any other off-roster firearm and frankly I'd try not to sell any firearm. Look for another item you could sell that you could more easily replace when finances improve. Every firearm I've sold in the past I have regretted later with just three exceptions: one was junk, one was sold for a friend who didn't want to be bothered with the process, and one was a collectible pistol that never worked properly.
If your firearm is the only recourse you have, why not pawn it instead? That way you can get it back later.
I know the pressure to provide a Christmas morning for the kids is immense but think long term here - a bunch of toys or games that they will not care about a year later vs. a handgun you can't easily replace? That's a no-contest for me. Lessen expectations, curb your budget, and find another solution or trust me, you will be kicking yourself years from now."A vote is like a rifle; it's usefulness depends upon the character of the user." - Theodore RooseveltComment
