    Am I crazy?

A few months ago a Calgunner was selling a Glock 19 cut down to take Glock 26 mags. It was a great deal but it was to far away and the seller wasn't shipping. The idea kinda stuck with me. Recently I wanted to get something concealable. A cut down 19 seems nicer than a 26 because I get to keep an accessory rail.

What do you guys think? Should I cut down a G19 or save myself the trouble and just get a G26?

That's like CCO but for a glock? Definitely a neat idea though. I'd say go for it, just be sure to go with someone that has done it before...

Half the benefit to me is to have the extra rounds when I go out of state. But looks good

I think that my plan is to have a full size 19 and a cut down 19 that would work like a 26.

get a G19 and G26 and assign them to different applications.

If you're going to have two guns anyway, why not save yourself the trouble and buy yourself a G26? Cutting down a G19 doesn't save you money (it costs more), and you have the barrel and length of a G19 (7.36") instead of a G26 (6.49").

It will shoot softer than the 26. I say go for it for life is too short to shoot an ugly gun.

Other way around? (I read it is possible with the LW add-on dust cover).

G26 with a 19 slide. No butchering needed.

I think it would be called a G26L.

I'm really looking to have the short grip wth the accessory rail. I'm not too concerned with the slide length.

Serious question. Do plan on ccw-ing with a rail mounted light? No need for the rail otherwise. The advantage of the g26 is smaller grip which aides in ccw. Disadvantage of g26 is smaller grip, which is more difficult ( almost impossible) for most to get a full four finger grip on the weapon.

Barrel length and sight radius differences between 19 and 26 is negligible IMO especially at defensive pistol distances.

Many comfortably ccw a 19. Those that want a smaller package opt for the 26. Those that want the max bbl length and sight radius for competition go 34 or 17L. Those that want the ubiquitous owb carry duty side arm go 17.

I wouldn't waste money cutting down a 19 to 26 frame specs. Just get a 26 and practice with it. If you want and are physically able to ccw a weapon light mounted firearm, go with the 19.

If it's just something cool, unusual, custom, and different, then by all means, cut down a 19. But for the money, I'd just buy a 26 and leave my 19 unmolested, with a weapon light mounted, and assigned to nightstand duty.

                            Have fun

Nitroxdiver - you have some good points. I guess that I should probably mention that I do already own a 17, 19, and a 34 already. I'm thinking that I would either buy a 26 next or another 19 and cut it down.
