Best Complete AR Pistols?

Looking at Sig Sauers AR pistols and I'm considering a P556xi or P516 Swat.

What other brands out there offer complete AR pistols? Phase 5 seems to be springing out at me but was looking for others ideas...

Don't really wanna build my own as I'm already going that route on my AR-10 and would like to just SSE a pistol before New Years.

If your going to build your first AR I would suggest starting with a 5.56 platform.


I've built 10+ AR's for my self and friends and built my first 308, huge head ache due to the mixed AR10/DPMS parts out there and it still being a new widely supported market everyone is just now or just recently gotten into the 308 parts market. So unlike the 5.56 community parts/companies haven't established their name and quality in the 308 play for as of yet. Well some have but it's not common knowledge again being 308 is still young as far as the parts race goes.

That said, what's your budget for this 5.56? Go from there.

At the moment I'm leaning heavily on a p556xi 10" swat. Any reasons not to? Or other makes and models around this price point?

Daniel Defense and Sig Sauer makes some amazing ar pistols as well.

Sig P516 with a 7.5" barrel is the proper answer to the OP's question. There is no better AR pistol.

I said the market was slim until recently. Not many companies hit the DPMS market until a few years ago. "Do the research".
