    Citadel 1911

Some of you may know.. I just purchased a Citadel 1911. I saw a Calgunner posted it up and went to turners to check it out... and next thing you know... IMPULSE BUY!

For those who haz Citadel 1911s... Theyre pretty much Rock Island Armory right? Same reliability and all that jazz?

I was told they are made in the same factory, yes.

I have one and it goes bang every time.

Well do. Have 100 rounds of FMJ .45 waiting for this one...

No they do not, but they do have True Novak cut on the slide. I gave armscor a call and they confirmed it via serial.

No pics.. Turners didnt have it in the store. They grabbed the serial number on their database, so i couldnt get to see the one im actually getting.

They are good guns and made by Armscor in the same factory as the RIA. Only difference is that Legacy Sports imports the firearm through the Citadel name. They are a great value, as providing all the extra features in RIA at a reduced price.

love my Citadel. no issues hitting a 10" steel gong from ~45 yards. i only like it slightly less than my RIA compact 1911 and that's just 'cause the compact is a bit tighter/solid feeling.

I'm going to Turners tomorrow to take a close look at this gun...also Ammo Bros has something similar for the same price ( also made by armscor) so I'm going to check that one out also.

At first I had no interests in 1911 because its somewhat a complex design, but fell in love with the slim grip and awesome trigger. I also like the fact that it shoots 45. acp which is great since we have a ten round limit anyways.

Another factor is that my grandpa fought the Japanese in the Philippines during WW2 so having a 1911 that was made there would be somewhat sentimental to me. I'm not sure if he saw combat, let alone used a 1911 though as he died when I was 10 and wasn't interested in such information.

If I end up with a Citadel I will let you guys know my experience, whether good or bad.

Yeah OP, I had looked at them before but didn't want to part with the cash at the time, well now that they have gone on sale, I decided that even though I just picked up my CZ75B last Monday and know that I can't DROS another gun for a few more weeks, I went ahead and got it, I have a very nice SW1911 and I love shooting it, I want the Citadel just as a back up for when I'm having additional work done on my Smith. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I painted my sights with white nail polish.
Just need to keep any chemical gun cleaner away from that.

Might upgrade the sights when I get it
