Difference between Sig X Series Models

Does anyone have a link, website, or information from Sig that lists all of the different X5 models/variations including the enhanced line and the differences between them? I can't seem to find a place/listing that actually shows all of the new enhanced line (as well as the classic line) to make a good decision on my last SSE.

For example, I know one of the big differences between all of the different models is the trigger mode, weight, and adjustability. Then there are different frames, features, and levels of fit, etc.

Or if someone would like to recommend me a few individual models, this will be a range gun in 9mm. I'd like a SAO trigger on it, adjustable is preferable, not over 4 or 5lb pull, on a standard (not lightweight) frame. Ideally I can find an X5 L1, but I know they are hard to find if you don't want to overpay by $400+ ... Not worth it to me. Also, I most likely would not compete with it.

This information is available on sigs non-intuitive website. Well maybe not for the L1, since that's the older model.

L1 is similar to the X-five Classic per spec, but is thought to have more hand-fitting similar to the Supermatch. The match gives you skeletonized hammer over the classic, and supermatch adds a straight trigger. The all-around is DA/SA, and the competition does not have the adjustable trigger.

    Hope that helps.

I don't think the L1's have caliber conversions for them like the newer series with the rails, if that matters to you.

    Good luck with your search!

This is the page you are looking for:

      By January, I should have a X6E Blue Moon and a X5E All-Around.

The Blue Moon because it is the most outlandish, fully adjustable, 6 inch offered and the X5 All-Around because I wanted the most accurate de-cocker 9mm Sig makes. There might be a single Blue Moon available and I know of only 1 X5E All Around still available. They are pretty much unicorns and will be worth a mint in January. Though, I never intend on selling them.

Right now you are almost guaranteed to over pay on x5's. Osage county has a decent selection but due to scarcity we are talking about $2600 for a L1 in 9mm.

I was frantically trying to find an X5 9mm a month ago while overseas so when got back which happens to be in 2 days I could start DROS, or at least start within a week depending on barrel availability of my ffl, anyway, I found a lot of options for the new X5e series in .40 cal but there was just nothing to be had anywhere for 9mm, but found Osage County and Shane was great guy and very helpful and had a few in the safe and said could be expecting more. I planned to go for the Match or SuperMatch, both having adjustable sights and adjustable trigger but he just had entry at the time, and I may get flamed for this, but honestly the Entry is all the gun I need.

It has non adjustable sights and non adjustable trigger. But I'm not competing w it or anything, jut wanted a very high quality SAO 9mm. Yes, the trigger pull will be heavier than the match but have read reviews of people very happy w their Entry triggers, and its over a grand less than Match and Supermatch and after buying a Wilson Combat CQB few mos ago didn't feel like spending 2500 plus on my latest 2 handgun purchases. I am confident the Entry will be all the gun I need. I understand the phrase buy once cry once but know i will be very happy w my Entry and will not be looking for any upgrades.

But get a hold of Osage they may have some new ones in stock and possibly Match or Supermatch as well.

I agree with JB. There will be some challenges finding an X5 or X6 in 9mm (I've seen quite a few .40s out there) and your will be paying a premium this late in the game.

Production on new X5's in Germany were stopped a few months ago. A couple sources close to Sig (on other forums) said new production wouldn't be available until 2015. At that point not sure if they are still built in Germany.

            Good luck with your search!

My X5's are all in 9mm. It was harder for me to find them in in 9mm than .40 and I had to pay a bit more for the 9mm version vs .40 version . Sorry that you are late in the game. There is one X5 L1 in 9mm for sale in San Diego. The price is not bad at all considering its very limited supply nowadays. Good luck with your search!

Man the new x series looks and styling haven't grown on me at all. As a matter of fact, it's slightly more repulsive than before, and it's hard for me to say that about almost any gun. Glad the updated everything, but man I wish they could have kept the looks the same (maybe add a rail). Especially not digging the tacky looking X on the slide now... That kind of font may have been cool for like 1 year in the early 90s... Today, not so much.

Also the $2600 tag isn't appealing either for a gun that I just want bc it'd be cool to have but that I don't generally really want or have to have otherwise. Especially when they were about $2000 to $2100 half a year ago. Would much rather spend that $ hunting down an old sphinx 3000...

Guess I'll just have to wait for sig to work out the export situation with Germany, cut out the tacky looking x, bring the lines and curves back to normal, and for me to be in a free state or the roster over turned. Or that I get lucky and find an old one at a better price in the future.

I'm also interested in adding an X5 for my last SSE but I'm having trouble getting a solid answer. Will they accept standard 226 magazines?

the standard p226 magazines certainly fits into the new X-five enhanced version with the extended magwell. however, I have yet to fire it with the standard mags.

Update: Went to my local range tonight and used standard p226 mag's for my x-five classic. Works fine.

Yes, they fit. The jet funnel (if you have an X5 with it) might get in the way while fully inserting the magazine, but the 226 versions fit.

Will Osage County ship standard capacity mags to CA? The language on their gun broker ads suggests that they might keep standard mags and not compensate for them.

Yes the X5 uses standard P226 magazines. Since most of us cannot use the extended mags as intended, you should be able to remove the mag funnel in order to more easily seat the 10-rd mags.

I went straight to Osage County website and there was an option to add X5 w 2 10 round mags to your cart, so I did just that. Didn't say anything about, for CA, etc, just had that as an option. And yes standard p226 mags I have heard fit in the Entry model, heck, they better cause I just ordered 5 off Gunbroker!
